The Case for Johnny Manziel

#81

Seriously, how many Johnny Manziel related articles/videos are they going to post at NFL.com?

LOL-if you haven't figured it out yet, this is the Johnny Manziel show on every sports network going. He really is the key because if he goes early then the rest of the QB needy teams start to panic. If he goes late then they try to hold off and trade into the bottom of the 1st or pick with their #2's. That's what makes this year's draft a drama worth watching and sells tons of air time.

And that's a good thing.

I want 3 players. Clowney, Bridgewater, Manziel. Jaguars have the number 3 pick. Just give me one of those 3 at 3, and I'm happy.

Good point.  They won't be mentioning the Jaguars taking Manziel in your scenario.  Glad to see it's finally sinking in for you.

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

I'll tell ya, JJ, you sure have some stones to make this prediction and stick by it like you have.  Kudos for that.  I honestly hope it works out for you.

Quote:Go back and review the A&M - Missouri game of 2012. Heisman Trophy was on the line as KSt had just lost and opened the way for Johnny Football. He goes down with a knee injury and the whole stadium goes deathly quiet knowing this may be the end of his quest. But as he lays there being examined you can here the crowd begin to chant louder and louder, "Johnny, Johnny, Johnny, Johnny!"

He gets up to cheers, limps to the locker room to have a knee brace put on, comes out and gives the most spectacular performance I have seen in over 50 years of attending football games on all levels.

You can't make this stuff up and you will always get some unbelievable plays every game you ever see him play. He will entertain you! He will dazzle you! And most important he will play with all his heart every play of every down he is in the game.

He will regenerate this franchise like nothing any of you have ever seen. I mean how do you think A&M has come up with over $400 million to makeover Kyle Field?

It's the house that Johnny built, Pass on him and you will regret it forever.

A lot of us will fly to Jacksonville just to watch him again. He is a once every 50 years player, jukes like Barry Sanders, escapes like Fran Tarkenton and throws at all angles like Brett Farve. All I can say to Jags fans is take him and enjoy the show. It is absolutely riveting!
Let's be real, if Manziel was two inches taller, would there be any doubt who the #1 pick in the draft this year would be for the Texans?  They need a QB, he is a heralded Heisman Trophy winner, from Texas, with a charasmatic personality and buckets of swagger.

I'd love to see Manziel starting at QB for the Jags (about half way through the season).  Doubt it will happen, but it would be awesome for the team and the city.

I appreciate that Kick. And it does work out well, I've been assured multiple times.

But let's just say it doesn't(although it will). And somehow what I was told in confidence turns out to be wrong(which it won't), and we don't actually get Johnny in the first round(but we will), and Caldwell makes a last second change to the plan(which he won't), and i end up with egg on my face. Well at that point, then I'll just say thankyou Kick.

If you notice in my 'favorite posters' list below, most of those guys either vehemently disagree with me or don't like me very much. But I enjoy a good debate, I think arguing without getting mad or yelling is a skill, an art even. And i think it's okay for fans of the same team to disagree.   lol, FBT probably wants to ring my neck about now, but hopefully no hard feelings, he's probably a great person in real life(ie, outside of these boards), and i like him, i really do, he's funny. I imagine him looking just like the guy in his avatar photo when I respond to him.

But anyways, thankyou Kick, you're a good guy, I can tell that. Thanks for debating and arguing with me these last few months, it's been fun, lol.  If i run into you at a game next season, i'll buy your family lunch during halftime.

REmember tho, Manziel at 3, it's as official as it'll get before 8:15. If you're a betting man Kick, bet the house.

I was really hoping Bridgewater would fall to round 2 so I could cut-and-paste Tom Tom's remark about 'anyone thinking Bridgewater will drop to the second round is an imbecile' into my sig.

Alas, he lucked out by one pick.

Here's some parting words (dont take it seriously FBT-I will still like the Jags, because you were smart enough to take our guy Luke last year).

http://espn.go.com/nfl/draft2014/story/_...nziel-pick

And here is a free tip for next year. This guy is being switched from RT to LT just like they did with Jake Matthews when Luke left. Word in College Station is the he is a better player than either one of them.  He was switched last year from his starting OG spot the previous 2 years to RT,

And all of those new season ticket holders will cancel their seats as quickly and easily as they bought them.

When Johnny is out of football in a few years, you folks in Texas can have him all to yourself.

Someone has been avoiding the board since Thursday. You were going to have a chance to bid us farewell. I guess you decided to blow this taco stand without enjoying a little crow on your way out?

Did your source happen to mention what happened? You do know Gene Smith is no longer affiliated with the Jaguars, right?

He's doing what most expected here when he made his guarantee based on inside information only he was privy to. When it turned out he was flinging dung, disappearing was the only option.

Gotta love it! When I was on here defending Gabbert and it worked out like it did,I took my beating and moved on.

For the life of me, I will never understand the motive behind making bets on guarantees that you post on the internet. Just seems like the biggest waste of time you can possibly have.

Besides posting on a message board about 100+ men that I've never met before. That's kind of a waste of time too.

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!
