Suppose the Rams don't go OT at 2

What Marty said.

But I was remiss in not stating that the team needs to re-sign Henne. While I don't think that he's the long-term answer, he is a guy that can operate the Offense. If the team adds talent to the Offensive Line and the Running Back position, then puts playmakers on the Defense, I think the team can reach respectability within the division.

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

But respectability within the division at best accounts for 6 wins-assuming a sweep of all division foes.

The improvement we get from the draft may or may not be enough to offset the improvement other teams will make.

I agree that improving the interior OL, getting a viable replacement for MJD, and at least getting a credible pass rusher is paramount to respectability.  But I think a QB is key, too.

If all four teams drafted the exact same players, we would improve the most, because we have the worst players to start with.

I think it depends on your definition of "respectability."   To me, respectability means we have the possibility of winning against about 3/4 of the teams in the NFL.   To me, 6 wins out of 16 is the bottom rung of respectability, but it is respectability nonetheless.   But you may have a different definition of respectability.

You didn't ask if a QB was key, you asked "So we could get to respectability without a quarterback?"   Of course a QB is key, but I sincerely think that we could be a respectable team with Henne at QB.

And I agree with you regarding the QB, but I think that Henne can be a "respectable" QB. Not a world beater, but respectable. Granted, my theory is built upon the idea that the team adds playmakers who make big contributors as both rookies and Free Agent additions, but stranger things have happened.
