MOCK 5.0
1ST ROUND 1. Houston Texans (2-14) - Blake Bortles QB I am going with the popular opinion here. It will either be Clowney or Bortles. I hope this hype train continues till the draft. We can only hope Bortles has a great combine. The Texans have a bigger need for QB than pass rusher. Although Clowney would be the safer pick, I think the addition of O’Brian will have them select the 6’5’’ QB. I just see Bortles as a Houston Texan versus Clowney or Bridgewater. Its easy for me to conceptualize Bortles wearing one of those awful Texan uniforms even though he wore white in college and Teddy wore Red. 2. Atlanta Falcons (Skins 3-13) -Jadeveon Clowney DE I have a feeling no team will buy into what the Rams are selling. I don't think a team would be willing to part with a lot of picks to draft anyone but Clowney. Especially teams with new regimes. Teams with new regimes might feel reserved in making a big splash in the first year. However, Dimitroff see’s Clowney still on the board and decides to part with either a 3rd and 5th or a 2nd for Clowney. Apparently Snead, Dimitroff and Caldwell are all buds, so I can see the Jaguars with the 2nd Pick or the Falcons. 3. Jacksonville Jaguars (4-12) - Teddy Bridgewater QB The Jags get their QB of the future. Im not sure whats with the recent knocks on Teddy. He has everything you want in a QB. We will get Matt Ryan-like production out of Teddy in his first year. But, Teddy will blossom into his own QB as he grows with the franchise. The issue isn’t where you select your franchise QB, but how. Too many teams try to build teams around Quarterbacks instead of simply building a team. The Patriots, Steelers, Seahawks, 49ers did the latter. The Broncos, Lions, Texans did the former. I can’t wait to see Teddy in teal. If the selection is not Teddy, I definitely expect us to trade down with the Vikings or Raiders. If this is the case I believe Garrappolo will be our QB. 4. Cleveland Browns (4-12) - Johnny Manziel QB I don't think just because Shanahan is their new OC means that they will ultimately trade for Cousins. Lombardi will draft Manziel. 5. Oakland Raiders (4-12) - Khalil Mack OLB I think they will target Vick and Sanchez in the offseason. <p style="color:rgb(0,0,0);font-family:Helvetica;font-size:13px;"> <p style="color:rgb(0,0,0);font-family:Helvetica;font-size:13px;">6. St. Louis Rams (4-12) - Jake Matthews OT <p style="color:rgb(0,0,0);font-family:Helvetica;font-size:13px;">They get the player the wanted all along. 7. Tampa Bay Buccs (4-12) - Greg Robinson OT Another team I could see targeting Vick and Sanchez. 8. Minnesota Vikings (5-10-1) - Anthony Barr OLB Another team I could see targeting Vick. They have no business taking a chance on Carr like they did just 3 years ago with Ponder. 9. Buffalo Bills (6-10) - Sammy Watkins WR 10. Detroit Lions (6-10) - Taylor Lewan OT 11. Tennesse Titans - Zach Martin OT 12. New York Giants - C.J. Mosley ILB 13. St. Louis Rams - Mike Evans WR 14. Chicago Bears - Darqueze Dennard CB 15. Pittsburgh Steelers - Aaron Donald DT 16. Dallas Cowboys - Timmy Jernigan DT 17. Baltimore Ravens - Calvin Pyror S 18. New York Jets - Marquise Lee WR 19. Miami Dolphins - RaShede Hageman DT 20. Arizona Cardinals - Derek Carr QB 21. Green Bay Packers - Timmy Jernigan DT 22. Philadelphia Eagles - HAHA Clinton Dix S 23. Kansas City Chiefs - Justin Gilbert CB 24. Cincinnati Bengals - Kony Ealy DE 25. San Diego Chargers - Kelvin Benjamin WR 26. Cleveland Browns - Jace Amaro TE 27. New Orleans Saints - Dee Ford DE 28. Carolina Panthers - Cyrus Kouandjo OT 29. New England Patriots - Louis Nix NT 30. San Francisco 49ers -Marcus Roberson CB 31. Denver Broncos - Ryan Shazier OLB 32. Seattle Seahawks - Odell Beckham Jr. WR 2nd Round 33. Houston Texans - David Yankey OG 34. Washington Redskins - Austin Sefarian-Jenkins TE 35. Cleveland Browns - Cameron Erving OT 36. Oakland Raiders - A.J. McCaron QB 37. Atlanta Falcons - Morgan Moses OT 38. Tampa Bay Buccs - Jason Verrett CB 39. Jacksonville Jaguars - Kyle Van Noy DE Jacksonville Jaguars 2014 DRAFT: 1st Round Teddy Bridgewater QB 2nd Round Kyle Van Noy Leo 3rd Round C.J. Fiedorowicz TE 4th Round Lache Seastrunk HB 4th Round Jaylen Watkins CB 5th Round George Uko DT 5th Round Deandre Coleman DT 5th Round Jon Halapio OG 6th Round Kevin Norwood WR 7th Round Storm Johnson HB Jaguars Big Free Agent Signings: Alex Mack C Walter Thurmond CB
Not trying to bump the thread (although a few comments on the mock would be appreciated). But, guys. This draft is driving me insane. And it's not so much as what the Texans do, but what the freakin Rams do! What is going through the Rams minds?!? Are they going to get a trade partner for Clowney, Bridgewater, or Manziel? Why would the Browns trade up knowing that the Jags have no interest in Manziel? The Falcons have a lot of needs to trade picks away, and I am sure they would be more than content with Khalil Mack or one of the plethora of LT's.
The 2014 Draft is perplexing starting at the #2 pick. Do the Rams justify taking a receiver that high when they have a glaring issue at T? Do the Rams select Clowney? Watkins? Robinson? Matthews? Then of course if the draft ends up like: 1. Texans - Bortles 2. Rams - Robinson 3. Jaguars - ?!?#!@?#?!@#?!@?$!#%?# what a crazy situation for Caldwell you have Bridgewater and Clowney on the board. WHAT DO YOU DO?!? This draft is keeping me up at night. Everything feels so up in the air. ![]()

With Lombardi out of Cleveland I doubt Farmer trades up for anyone. I question if they even select Manziel anymore. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

I question if they even select Manziel anymore.i dont see tampa going tackle when a possible elite de in barr is on the table same with atlanta and mack at olb minnesota need a qb so buffalo was the earliest i could see him going as for cleveland manziel it makes too much sense to me they have a strong front 7 playmakers in the secondary a top wide out for him to throw too resign alex mack and they also have a top centre to ease him in they need playmakers on offense and of all the qbs manziel is that i think they fall in love with his excitement factor and the opportunity to add profile and excitement to a long maligned team. he is an instant face of a franchiseand as such trade up to land him if they leave the rams with that 2nd pick minnesota or oakland could jump and grab either qb giving them a chance to loose all 3 and qb is their big first round need also they have a qb in jason campbell where he can sit and get up to speed if needs be i think it's the perfect situation for both the browns and manziel

New mocks by Jeremiah and Charles Davis. They both have us taking Manziel. I find this odd.

MOCK 6.0 2/20/14
*HIGHLIGHTS* - Oakland gets a Boyd/Watkins pairing, Cardinals draft Carr, JAGS Trade Back into first 1. Houston Texans (2-14) - Johnny Manziel QB I think the owner and the residents of Houston will be a big factor for Johnny going to the Texans. I think Johnny’s new commitment towards becoming a better person and quarterback will definitely help his stock. He has been training with a former Bill Obrien assistant and he’s stated he WANTS to be a Texan. I think the Texans oblige. 2. Atlanta Falcons (Skins 3-13) - Jadeveon Clowney DE I still feel the Falcons will trade up for a shot at Clowney. Albeit the Browns will probably also try to trade up for Bridgewater. We will see I guess. But, for now I think the Rams will trade this pick to the Falcons. Perhaps the Browns will be content knowing Bridgewater and Bortles will still be available. 3. Jacksonville Jaguars (4-12) - Teddy Bridgewater QB I have been trying to not mock Bridgewater to us several times. But, I hold with such conviction that Teddy will be a Jaguar. It just makes sense. Him in a Jaguars uniform makes sense to me. Now for cliches… he has a great work ethic, has all the tools, and **** we need a Quarterback. I think at this point in Caldwells mind its 1A CLOWNEY 1B Bridgewater 1C Mack 4. Cleveland Browns (4-12) - Blake Bortles QB 5. Oakland Raiders (4-12) - Sammy Watkins WR 6. St. Louis Rams (4-12) - Jake Matthews OT 7. Tampa Bay Buccs (4-12) - Greg Robinson OT 8. Minnesota Vikings (5-10-1) - Khalil Mack OLB 9. Buffalo Bills (6-10) - Anthony Barr OLB 10. Detroit Lions (6-10) - Taylor Lewan OT 11. Tennesse Titans - Zach Martin OT 12. New York Giants - C.J. Mosley ILB 13. St. Louis Rams - Eric Ebron TE 14. Chicago Bears - Darqueze Dennard CB 15. 1. HOU - QB B. Bortles (who I think is the one QB Caldwell would want - just a guess)
2. STL - DE J. Clowney (Browns may be dumb enough to trade up for Manziel) 3. JAC - DE/OLB K. Mack (pass rushing beast with fire we need if QB not selected) 4. CLE - QB J. Manziel (they can have him) 5. OAK - OT J. Matthews (I think they stick with Pryor another year) 6. ATL - OT G. Robinson (no brainer here) 7. TAM - WR S. Watkins (Florida boy returns home opposite V-Jack) 8. MIN - QB T. Bridgewater (may fall slightly, Geno Smith comparisons coming?) 9. BUF - WR M. Evans (rises to top 10 with that 4.47 40 time) 10. DET - OT T. Lewan or CB D. Dennard This is my latest guess at the top 10. |
