Throwing Beer

#81

I'd love to see some of these players play in S. America or Europe where they have flares, bottles, and other objects thrown at them. They can take a plastic cup with pads on. Get out of here with that wining crap. He acted like a [BLEEP] and got ejected, it's part of playing in front of that many drunk people.

Is throwing beer at someone right? No.

However coming on a message board and demanding people to apologize and own up to something they didn’t do? Stupid.

I’m willing to bet no one on this board actually threw the beer. So what do people have to own up to? I’m not apologizing for what other people did.

GO JAGS! MICHAEL BENNETT SUCKS

Dilly dilly!

Honestly... could care less. Michael Bennett is a piece of [BLEEP]. He went low for Linder's legs and he's a gutless coward. And then on back to back plays where it should only take two knees and that's it. They pull some childish [BLEEP] because they can't stand that they got beat by lil ol' Jacksonville after they talked allllllllllllllllllllllllll that [BLEEP]. Just like the Bengals did.

I am glad our city don't put up with trash like Bennett and Jefferson. Jefferson should act like an adult. Instead of delaying the game like a piece of [BLEEP] coward. I expect nothing less out of Seattle though. Carroll, just like Jones in Dallas are known for drafting well known head cases and pieces of [BLEEP] off the field. Trashy team led by a classy QB. That sums up Seattle.

After Jefferson's answer to a reporter about how he was a man and didn't deserve to have beer thrown on him, ideally it would have been nice to hear a follow up question on whether Linder, as a man, deserved to receive a potentially career ending dirty hit to his knees.

Dude shut up. A couple fans threw a couple cups of beer at a player who just got ejected for a dirty play at the end of the game. After the way he reacted from the first one, I wish he got hit with 100 cups of beer. He's a grown man who should already be learning a lesson from the ejection, but instead, he's now trying to climb the stands to go after a couple dudes who are likely drunk from watching their team just win a huge game.

But you're right, the couple idiot drunks should be dragged through the streets but the millionaire player that got ejected should be brought into a nice bright padded room where we can all kiss his feet and apologize for his hurt feelings.

I posted earlier that I don’t normally condon this type of action, but after years of having bad teams and poor crowd turnouts, I have to say I’m proud of how the team and fans rallied together. This whole situation could have been avoided had Bennett and Jefferson not played dirty TWO plays in a row. Walter Peyton Man of the Year candidate Bennett had Linder on the ground after trying to take his knees out..I loved seeing Cam Robinson and Fournette stepping up and going to war for him. Then the next play after the refs settle things, Jefferson and the Seahawks do the same thing! As a fan, of course you’re going to talk trash to the guy being escorted to the locker room. Then Jefferson started mouthing back. Then here comes the beer. Have a safe flight back Seahawks, hopefully the fines for you are coming

You keep saying man-child wrong...... Honestly, him having kids is completely irrelevant. The guy was acting like a dang fool, and the Seahawks as a whole lost their darn minds at the end of the game. He got kicked out of the game and a beer was thrown. His reaction was to try to climb into the stands? That's a man-child. He is the one with no class. The fans that threw beer were simply fans who did what fans do.

So many things wrong with the OP. Not sure where to start.

As if other fan(s) at another stadium wouldn’t have done the same? We’re talking about a couple drunks acting stupid (Go figure). But that is solely a Jacksonville thing, uh....right. A couple morons don’t = ‘jags Fans’. Tbh, Jag fans are pretty damn classy.

Children...yeah I don’t even get it. Not even going to try to understand that.

Be a better man, tell that to your “Professional” athlete that tried to climb the stands. Carry on about being a better man.

Please ban this troll.

Maybe the guy who threw the beer had kids too. So wouldn't they cancel each other out?

Should it have been thrown?  Probably not.  Should he have responded the way he did?  Absolutely not.   But..... Wasn't he going to shower in the locker room anyway?

And what does a player having children have anything to do with anything regarding a football game?

Wait...Who threw beer at my child?

The fans and the player were in the wrong. Is throwing a beer worth being banned from all NFL stadium for life and potential assault charge + fine.

Explain to me why it is ok for Jags fans to throw beer on an NFL player with kids.

This is so messed up.

I am embarrassed.

You should be too

This is not what we're about.

So, if he didn't have children, it'd be ok?

Jefferson's actions on the field (that got him ejected) were equally stupid.

There's no justification for either.

The OP's "man with children"  thing is definitely comical, though. I'll give him that.

Agreed that throwing stuff at players as they're leaving the field is completely uncalled for.  Same thing for the player's behavior which caused the ejection.  It's a shame that a big win for the Jaguars is getting national air play and rather than talking about the game, Jacksonville fans are being blasted.  No mention of the cheap shot Bennett put on Linder.  No context.  Just attacks on the fans from media hacks on ESPN, and from Peter King among others.

I am glad Jefferson isn't sterile or this whole beer throwing thing would have never been brought to light on the Pride haha.

Bennett was trying to blow our best Oline man knee.... a fan (prob drunk) said screw it and threw a beer. By no means was throwing a beer at a player acceptable... but the reality is it happens. Fans throw things. Players know this! Ever been to an international soccer game? You might be mortified by what happens in those games. Never does a professional athlete go into the stands ... like how can you even defend that?

An NBA game a decade ago has zero to do with  this.

Why are you so insistent on bringing his kids into this argument? I highly doubt he will do the same. The man pulled off a classless move of his own when he got ejected, the part about him having a trash thrown at him rather fitting with all thing considered.
