I believe he'll turn into a solid player - Alualu clone at worst, Malik Jackson in his prime at best. That said, I hate taking projects (Matt Jones being the most famous example) in the first round. Teams have four-five years with them on their rookie deals. The high-ceiling line that GMs spout when they draft Taven types is a tip-off that they're already hedging against high-bust potential.

I didn't hear anyone spout that about Bryan that was associated with the team's front office. It wouldn't be inaccurate though. 
The Jags brass clearly felt the great talent already in place on the line afforded them the luxury of drafting an inexpensive  replacement for one of the high priced vets. 

I don't love the pick because of the other needs the team had, but it makes a hell of a lot more sense than the Fournette pick.

There were many people here that thought J. J. Watt was a bust after his rookie year. I'm not sure you can accurately judge any player after just one season--good or bad. Especially a position that he had to share with 4 Pro Bowlers.

Judging a rookie lineman that played half the year out of position "a bad miss" is a fool's errand. 

You're welcome to your opinion but you're clearly ill-informed. 

I'd probably have selected a half dozen players instead of Bryan at 29 but I'm not going to pretend I know how good he's going to be or not be yet. It's just way too soon to have a grasp on. 

And I'll go ahead and beat the dead horse for you since you seemed to have breezed by the info I spelled out for you in my prior post about D-Linemen developing slowly quite often. 

Do you think Cameron Heyward was "a bad miss?"  No? 
He started his career with 1 sack and 22 tackles in his rookie season and was drafted at 31 overall. 
Practically identical start - yet he's an all-pro DT now, isn't he? 

You need to learn how to assess with patience for players that spend their rookie seasons just rotating in behind pro-bowlers and getting their feet wet.  Premature judgement is seriously unwise in these situations.
