Sad part is that he would have the same results as we had had this season.

Except he ran Ramsey and Ngoukue outta town. He had beef with Fournette dating back to the Jets game in 2017 when he was benched for curfew. He argued in the middle of the game with Ramsey.

He mishandled the QB position. He was a clown.

Ramsey and Yawn had issues with Coughlin that carried over to the entire franchise. Fournette was and is an idiot who can't play. The QB position? He played what he was dealt. Your perspective is quite distorted.

There is some truth in the fact any random fan from the crowd could have coached this team to 2 wins.

I'm going to drop this here. I don't care what anyone thinks of it ... JDR was our best HC. If you are going to use TC as an argument. TC was given a stacked deck, just like the Panthers were. I would love JDR back as HC. Especially with a real QB1. Hate on me all you want. What has Gruden done for the Raiders? Less than JDR.

You are funny.

JDR is the king of mediocrity and has no clue on how to have a decent offense.
And to answer the final part, Gruden sucks, that has nothing to do with JDR, both are awful.

I could actually go for that if we landed a good GM & OC.

JDR has accumulated enough knowledge and experience by now that I'm sure he'd do well here with TL as his QB.  His teams near the end of his tenure here were stripped of talent about like our current team is, and yet he still managed to keep us competitive.

It would beat getting an inexperienced HC that would take years absorbing the lessons that JDR already learned before finally being productive.

All that being said, JDR would not be my first, second, or third choice for HC.  However, if we ended up with him I wouldn't complain.

Hell no to jdr. Been there and done that. Maybe as a defensive coach tops. Id like to see a top notch D coach for once. I watch other teams and envy their coach

because you can't claim superiority over another poster without the polarization.

I promise that Doug new Sunday was his last game on our sideline. He did what he could with the cards he was dealt. Some of it was good, some of it was bad.

As others have said, a lot of good favor was cancelled by his loyalty to his DC. We've had the opposite before - remember how JDR would cycle through assistants?

Fare thee well, Doug, best of luck in the future.

I don't believe getting people on the internet, in message boards and comments sections specifically, to agree on much or be civil.

I've learned to accept that the internet is just where all of the world's worst people tend to gather. The few level headed people are then bombarded with nonsense, anger, hostility, and trolling.

Yo!

Really? I guess you didn't watch our Offense for 9 years. Like 4 OCs and always the same crap. Not to mention they made huge mistakes with Gabbert, even if the guy wasn't as talented.

Carr is not good enough? maybe we shouldn't analize HCs until they have a Brady, Rodgers, Mahomes...

The JDR/Musgrave/Carr offense was the 7th best in the NFL in 2016.

That's better than "mediocre."

On the whole though, I'm not at all interested in a JDR retread at HC. And he would need a stud OC and QB to get it done IMO.

1 year, and what happened after that? Same thing happened here, it all went down the hill.

Carr with Gruden has better completion percentage and more yards per completion.

TC had roster control so TC stacked his own deck...

But JDR is second best for sure.... which isn't saying much considering, Mularkey, Bradley, and Marrone are the other choices.

JDR actually had better QB play than anything the last 3 have seen.

So what you meant to say was “can’t sustain a good offense over multiple years.

Not “has no clue how to have a good offense.”

So you're saying an offensive coordinator can make up for a bad quarterback?  Mmmmmmkay.

Leftwich.  Garrard.  Gabbert.

Yikes, what a trio.

Honestly, David Garrard was better than anything his successors had.

That's not saying much.  If we're calling Garrard good, that shows had sad our quarterbacking has been.  One, extreme, outlier year.

I'd rather not run Robinson in the ground like JDR did with MJD. I pass.
