Quote:if people start to freak out about, "WHO"S DOING CLOCK MANAGEMENT?!".... ugh

it's really easy. you put your hands in the form of a 'T' when necessary. It's not something that requires that much attention.

I get so annoyed at "Clock Management" issues. Most of it can be prepared. Spend the off-season going through simulations of every NFL clock management situation over the past 3 years in the offseason, and then figure out a plan for what will you do in that situations, and then write that down. There clock management done. Then trust your plan and just implement the one that is needed. (Blake needs to do this too.)

Quote:The ST unit had some bad mistakes last year (and many were surprised that he lasted the off-season). Don't forget the bad miscommunication on the failed 4th down punt this season. Critical mistake putting Marshall out there also, who made some bad situational decisions on fielding kick/punts.

As for Kirby, while the OL was less than stellar and played a factor in the struggles...there were faaaar too many questionable decisions this season with the RB rotations: Toby suddenly getting a crucial 3rd down run after not getting a single carry all game, Yeldon no carries at the goal line, Denard getting carries at the goal line over TJ, Grant being put in (like Toby) at a crucial point.

Don't forget Kirby is the RB coach in Oakland while that offense kept trotting out MJD and McFadden over Murray.

You are correct on most ST issues, but I'm ready to put all the blame on Anger. True he was not as consistent this year as a few years back, and he has trouble with the "just right" kick. But he longer kicks were not crazy long, they were how far he normally kicks it distance-wise (near the NFL leaders). The gunners were just really bad all year. (Honestly, Nick Marshall is gone next year if he doesn't get it by training camp).

I'd also hesitate on putting all the blame on Kirby for those decisions. Bradley and Olsen have been talking about Red Zone all season. I bet a lot of those calls were made as a group or by those above Kirby. Also remember that Kirby has to get some credit for improvement that Yeldon made over the season and Denard over past few seasons. True Yeldon got hurt, and Denard ended the season on a down turn, but you can only build up the talent/players you are given.

I think Todd Walsh makes more sense than having just Gus as DC, will Gus have more input? Yes, but I dont like it when the head coach becomes like the all seeing eye and gets involved with everything.

The odds are way against it, but he will get the opportunity to do just that.

I survived the Gus Bradley Error.

I wonder if this was an ultimatum firing? "He goes, or you ALL go!"

Why not? What do we have to lose by him doing so? It's not like calling the defense will hinder his usual role of doing absolutely nothing.

Quote:I agree with you on Walker and and Mallory. Kirby I'm not so sure,he came from Oakland with Greg olson and had a rookie rb and what?
Why do you guys want Walker to be fired?

Walker if the reason we got Devon House who is are best DB, its not his fault that we have awful pass rush

Quote:So if we were ranked 31st in defense AND we follow last years pattern, does that mean we hire the Saints DC?  Right?
It worked for us on offense lol

But I wouldnt mind Rob Ryan, I think he just had crap players

I think all of us WANT him to all of a sudden be Belichick and lead us to SBs. No one would complain there.

Just realistically probably won't happen. I'll stay optimistic for him bc of the turnaround we were able to make on offense. Hopefully we can do it on defense too.

We'll see. It's a tall order to go from 5-11 to hopefully 10-6 but teams can have dramatic turn arounds. It's do or die for Gus.

What I have wondered all along is if gus has been somewhat or fully involved in the defensive play calling.....what will canning babbich accomplish?

Isn't it better to have your DC really be your DC....and keep the head coach out of things unless its going off the rails of course.

But we've had three years of a sub par defense, some games they were awesome but those were far and few between.

This does put me in a 50/50 position on renewing for 2016. Money is hard to come by for me and facing retirement soon I'm just not sure.

Rob Ryan is horrid he has average to bad defenses ever year except 2 in his career. His defenses are in the bottom half of the league every year, he is living off his fathers reputation.

His father didn't have the greatest reputation either. Like father like son(s) I suppose.
