I don't care who he selects for the team so long as we have Gus

and since it's apparent that he'll be here longer than Gus, I wonder who his next coach will be

I mentioned before Caldwell didn't have a great 1st year, including hiring him IMO

Correct, brother ^^^

that's the WORST pick of all. That's plaguing us, and will do so in 2016.

Terrible F grade.

Quote:Monroe trade got us the picks we would use one guys like Telvin...

Big win there.

Also, Dave got picks for Scobee and Gabbert.

Big win there.

Also, Marks and Miller can be seen as good enough FA p/u to negate the couple BAD f/a pickups.

2013 draft class is looking rather sad....

But....when looking at the draft over all... there weren't a lot of home run hits in it.

Ansah and Le'Veon Bell would have been pretty nice pick ups... but hindsight...

PS (Here's hoping we never get a LT from a spread offense again)
We got Chris Smith and Aaron Colvin from the trade

I like Colvin but I would still take Monroe if we had been guaranteed he would resign due to the importance of the position

Not a big fan of Monroe but he was an above average tackle and better than what we currently have.

As withb all gms wins and losses but with Caldwell most definitely bigger wins than losses

I'm not arguing the Gus side, he has been a bust of a HC so far, and currently I don't have a ton of faith he turns it around. He brought in a ton of talent and has done well above average via draft+FA, which is important. We saw what a GM that fails in drafts can do. I'm good with Caldwell, and it doesn't sound to me like it's Caldwell's choice on if he's fired or not, to me it sounds like its Khan's call and he wants to keep the continuity going and give him his whole contract before moving on.

It's pretty damn impossible to know what coach will work out. There has been plenty of new up and coming coaches that flamed out. There's been plenty of retreads that had awful first chances at being a HC that turned into great coaches the 2nd time. It's honestly a shot in the dark.

@vitostellino dave says they're disappointed but still had some great stories.

Well as long as they have some great stories, that all that matters.

It sounds to be like no one believes in accountability among Khan, Caldwell and Bradley.  Wallbash

Caldwell sounds like he's trying to defend his decision to hire Gus in the first place.  Could be his downfall in the end.

Caldwell is a star GM, so transparent, even though we had a difficult season, atleast we got this guy! And he expects changes defensively, cant really see Babich as DC next year

@GeneFrenette GM Caldwell says he And Khan gave careful consideration to retaining Bradley for 2016. Lauds Gus leadership, game management skills #jaguars

He just put the staff on notice, sorry, but just because we are not amazing this season, does not mean heads need to roll, sounds like Babich days are numbered if you listen to what Caldwell just said.

That's what I don't get...the things Caldwell cited (making tough decisions, leadership and game management) are terrible with Gus.

It would be more of a shock if he said that they were terrible.

I get where you're coming from...

So after year 3 going into year 4 he changes the DC, ok got it (making a tough decision a year or 2 too late).

But leadership and game management?  There is no evidence that he does well in those areas.

Gus wasn't responsible for the first 2 years.  Sweet!

One of these years.............

@ryanohalloran Dave on defense: "It's not like we don't have any pieces. We have a mountain of cap space and eight draft picks."

Then why didn't we keep Mularkey and just let him be the scapegoat?
