What is the definition of insanity again?

Quote:And yet the sucky defense made sure that we didn't enjoy too many wins even with that offensive production.  It's a shame we don't have a coach that is supposed to be an expert at defense.

Oh wait....

If talent means nothing, then the team could save time and money scouting defensive prospects and randomly select people out of a phone book to play the defensive schemes and get similar, if not better results.

How many would recommend that course of action?

Quote:Well i'm sure there's a Jags fan somewhere who spends more than you on the team, so you shouldn't talk either. We should only have a forum where the highest paying fan is the only one who can post things, and the rest of us simply observe.

It's funny, when you mention the fact you aren't renewing, people call you a cry baby. I love this team. I will continue to drink coffee out of my jaguar mug, use my jaguar tervis when in the car, continue to buy jaguar clothes, but will not renew tickets. This is not a matter of finances, but solely a decision based on the principal of entertainment value to entertainment dollar, and the simplicity to pick up single game tickets when you do want to go.

Generation Jaguar has not created the wait list everybody anticipated.

He's gonna argue that "I'm a better fan than you" crap. But I've been there done that.

Quote:Average age of the teams in the playoffs vs. the Jaguars roster?

The Packers, Texans, Chiefs, Vikings, Seahawks and Patriots are all top 12 in average age according to this site http://www.phillyvoice.com/ranking-nfl-teams-age/

The Jaguars are number 2.

Now that he's safe , does he rest and protect some starters? Losing Marks in a meaningless last game last year comes to mind.

Quote:Honestly, the people who support Gus can't be reasoned with. The blind support is baffling. I don't get it.
In my case, it isn't blind support for Gus.  I am still undecided.

I post knowing the arguments for his dismissal are myriad and strong.

I also know what constant turnover does to a franchise (see Cleveland).

I also want offensive continuity/improvement.  That will come if guys aren't learning a third scheme in three years.

A heavy defensive investment, both in free agency and the draft, is necessary and expected.

As Khan indicated, is substantial improvement does not happen, then he'll be let go.  My thing is I just don't want to miss out on good coaching candidates this year (Sean Peyton rumors, Marrone).

Quote:That looks at one aspect of the game.  What about offense?  How about points?  Margin of victory/loss?

It looks at the aspect of the game that Gus should be most responsible for as a former DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR.

I will work on the offense and post it.  I didn't have time right this minute.

I hope so. Didn't the clots tank a final game one year when we needed them to win one for the gipper?

Nope.  Players get paid to play (when healthy enough).

Another one who doesn't attend games, but rants here. It's not about who pays the most, it's those who show up, sit in the end zones, nose bleed seats and suffer and celebrate together.

You wouldn't understand.

IMO, Khan knows Gus can't get it done but also know one more year of accumulating talent in the draft and FA could legitimately attract a big name coach in 2017.

You wouldn't want to sit next to the guy in my signature? He's probably the #1 fan at the game, a blast to be around! Loudest guy in the north end zone.

Hence the "former" part of his title.  He is not a defensive coordinator and doesn't scheme/call plays/formations/etc. on game day.

I wouldn't bother pulling up any more stats.  Just look at the big picture.  The team is not as bad as it was 3 years ago period.

If this plays itself out the way you think it will,  who would you like to see the Jaguars hire as HC in 2017 that you think will be available?
