Can you believe Bortles was almost a Texan?
|
Bortles in a Texans uniform performing like he is right now makes the Texans a powerhouse with that D.
Oh boy i am glad they went Clowney. In fairness, Clowney would have been my pick if I was in their position.

It certainly wasn't a bad pick as Bortles was no slam dunk franchise QB coming out of the draft. Unfortunately though it is painful when you pass on multiple franchise QBs. Bet they wish they took Carr in the 2nd at least
Quote:So gunning for 35+ TDS and 4000 yards is AVERAGE? Fascinating. Comic gold. Hope he's "average" his entire career.

Quote:I prefer good QBs......Texans don't have a good QB on the roster. I dont want an Average QB.....which Bortles is. I would rather not have a QB so the Texans address the position in the PROPER way. They will draft a QB in the next draft. I would have preferred the Clowney-Carr Combo they could have had. The Carr name baggage was over thought and I bet they regret no pulling the trigger on him. Yeah, because you can just draft an above average/good NFL QB in the next NFL draft when you don't already have one. You make it sound like you can just go to the above average/good QB store and pick out the one you want. How many QBs have the Texans drafted since they have been in the league? Also, who would you consider the Texans best QB in franchise history,? It doesn't matter if he was drafted by them or not, I'm just wondering who you guys think is the best QB to play for the Texans. I really don't think this upcoming NFL draft is a good one for QBs, but as usual, the QBs who are perceived as the better ones will be over drafted by the QB needy teams.
I survived the Gus Bradley Error.

They have never actually seen a franchise QB, so it is hard for them to diagnose one when they do see one. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

To be fair Schaub was decent. Nearly as good as Bortles current play at his best.
Quote:How crazy would it have been if Blake went #1 overall and we'd have to face Bortles, Luck, and Mariota every year With JJ Watt on the other side of the ball... Texans wouldve been the clear winner of AFC South had they drafted Bortles instead of Clowney that year... but they didnt know Clowney was going to get injured..

BoB definitely got snookered out of taking Bortles, either by his meddling owner or by the loudmouth sports media pumping Clowney to high heaven.

The only 2 QBs the Texans should have regrets about are Bridgewater (vikings jumped in via trade at 32 to take him) and Carr. They are probably kicking themselves believing they could sell their fan base on another Carr brother. Derek played High School ball in Houston and he was known by the fan base. It was stupid not taking him. Carr was available at 33. Quote:We are had a QB who enjoyed throw pick 6s (or almost pick 6s)............No thanks........lol Wha.. Bortles is the impact player this franchise has been looking for since before the Texans existed. He's got some problems to fix, but I'll take 30+ TDs and 4000 yards any day of the week.
By the way, I wanted Bridgewater too. Not sure about that now. He's not asked to do much with the Vikings, so maybe that's why his numbers are so underwhelming. I'd like to see how he does on a team that relies more on the passing game. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
4189 yards and 35 TD's and the Houston Texans don't have any regrets for not taking bortles You're crazy Scarface. The Texans bigger regret is not taking allen Robinson as well And b.o.b Coach him at Penn State. Lol. Imagine we had to deal with Bortles, Robinson and DeAndre Hopkins on offense for a decade.

I might have cried
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."
My 2 cents:
Bortles was a very average QB in that draft and I wasn't happy about rumors that Houston was interested in him. But, he has turned into a very interesting QB and Jags fans should be very proud to have a solid starter for the near future to lead their offense. My opinion is Bortles in a Texans uniform would have made this team an instant threat to own the AFCS for a number of years. The Texans missed out on Bortles and a handful of franchise changing QB'S in Carr and Bridgewater and instead chose Clowney (reasons still not clear). All that being said, we have done well enough with the carousel of mediocre QB'S that Obrien and staff have trotted out over the past two seasons. I am confident we don't need to hit on a top 3 QB in this draft in order to become that aforementioned threat in the AFCS. We simply need the scouts to do their job and find us a solid starter. Kudos to the Jaguars on what their team is slowly becoming. This division is shaping up nicely, aside from Indy who seem to be imploding. |
