Andrew Luck is highly overrated

Quote:to be honest, the only two actual good games luck had in 2014 outside of the division was against a trainwreck washington, and the bengals. the rest of his performances were overall forgettable.

Dominated all divisional games of course. Exploded against the Redskins & Giants. Beat the Bengals handedly. Played VERY well against the Steelers despite losing (the defense let Ben throw for 1000 yards and 100 touchdowns).

Are you sure you aren't a Jaguar fan at heart? You fit in so perfectly around here with your constant denial of your teams players diminishing skill sets.

Quote:You can deny it all you want, but Luck WAS a top QB this first 3 years (especially in years 2 & 3). Year 3 he was easily top 5 or 3. Deny it all you want, but the tape and stats say otherwise. Luck has struggled this year, obviously. Whether he's injured or all the hits/pressure he's taken is finally getting to him IDK.

I've always said Chuck Pagano has been a poor head coach, we've actually agreed on this.

Reggie Wayne was NOT done, at all. He looked like his old self until he got re-injured mid season, which basically made him drop off big time.

The free agents have been 50-50 IMO. This year....

Good: Gore, Lowery, Langford

Bad: Johnson, Herremans, Cole

I think you can agree Luck has had a pretty bad start to this 2015 season.

Obviously there is still plenty of time for him to turn it around, especially here in the weak donkey AFCS, but I do have a question for Indy fans:

What do they attribute his bad start to? Is it simply the shoulder injury or is he just pressing in games because he has to do so much and the expectations are pretty high for him this year since he made the AFCCG last season?

I haven't really been able to watch Luck much this year except in his game highlights and he just hasn't looked the same as in the last few seasons.

I agree Pagano isn't any kind of great HC and considering the way you guys have started out this year, there is a good chance he will be gone at the end of the season, if not before.

I survived the Gus Bradley Error.

I think its a combination of his injury, the internal catastrophe waiting to happen (look at the Dolphins before and after Philbin), lack of production in the running game, and horrendous pass protection. The guy is under a microscope, so every bad play/game is going to be criticized just that much more.

I don't think its fair to write off what he has done to this point based on a few bad games.

I also find it very interesting that this same exact situation happened with Peyton in 2001. Which, strangely enough was Peyton's 4th season (this is Luck's 4th season).

The team stumbled to a 6-10 record, the head coach was fired (Mora), Peyton threw 23 interceptions with only 26 touchdowns.

Quote:Luck was the greatest QB prospect in a long time, then Mariota entered the NFL draft and supplanted him.

Oh I get it...you are trying to be funny......right?

I was being facetious, I think Luck is still the best prospect since Manning. Though I do seriously believe Mariota is the best QB prospect since Luck, and don't think its outside the realm of possibility he finishes with a better career.

We shall see. Luck has always seemed to lack something. I just don't know what it is. Even when he was playing well last year. Hey I need that stinkin colt to keep losing, but throw for garbage time yards! He has ruined my fantasy team so far.

He's so good in garbage time. Like this past week, he and Hilton cost me my matchup even though the colts stunk it up.

This has been true ever since entering the league.

He certainly started with a high floor, but hasn't grown much (if any) since his second season in college.

Would anybody trade Bortles for Luck straight up? That is a good gauge on how people see Luck's ceiling.

nope.

Bortles throws INTs just fine

(although..... Luck is a Stanford man, and Bortles doesn't know what vanity is)

Bortles just set himself up for a deodorant commercial too.

By the way, that thread got deleted because it was "inappropriate".

Seriously? That's an obvious yes. Even more so than straight up for watt. There is no objective person who would take bortles. I can't think of a single objective reason that is convincing.

You certainly would have majority on your side and those who view it differently will most likely be Jags fans. I guess the intriguing thing is Bortles potential and unknown. Luck has concerns and he has been feasting on a weak division. Bortles will have the same opportunity in that respect.

Why would I trade a second year Blake bortles on the upswing for a guy with more mileage on his arm, a shoulder injury, and who is looking less good than bortles now?

IMO Luck hit his ceiling already.  Again... arguably his second season in college.

Meh, it really depends. Last year? Absolutely.

This year? Maybe. Blake is beating him statistically across the board. Is Luck really just hurt? Is it internal organization problems? Or has he simply regressed?

If he really has regressed and has hit his ceiling, then no. If we're looking at the "what have you done lately" vs "entire career" Blake is better this year and seems to be still progressing while Luck is playing similar in every game.

So right now, no you don't make that trade if you're Jax. At least not until you can confirm what the issue with Luck is this year.
IT WAS ALWAYS THE JAGS
