How good is Blake Bortles?

#81

I think I had them at 18 after the Dolphins game and kept them there despite the Patriots game.  For a few reasons, Gus got out coached & Blake Bortles had an off game, tons of injuries & a couple will return this week, and I cant help but to think that the Patrtiots probably did cheat in ways we dont even know of yet...

Good point Pujo, good point.

I think we would all love for a WR like Calvin Johnson to play for the Jags, no matter how long it might be for.

I feel that he could help out our young WRs with all his experience.

Unfortunately, I just don't see it happening. I sure would like to be wrong on this one.

Quote:With Julius healthy, the LT situation solidified, the running game picking up its slack, and the drops greatly limited,
I think he can get there this season.

If the Jags can accomplish those 4 things you listed above, they can threaten for the AFCS.

Of course that's a BIG IF.

Quote:In my ranking in the NFL at Large forum you might notice I now have the Jaguars at #23. I dropped them from #20. Elliot Harrison was a little too high on them after their win and is now a little too low on them after their loss.

I'm seriously hoping for a win this Sunday so the Jaguars can control the division. I realize it will take a mistake-free game, but it's within their reach. Come on team... Let's do this!

Yeah, when was the last time the Jags had a chance to win the next game and then be in 1st place in the division, this late in the season?

I survived the Gus Bradley Error.

Marcus Mariota has been sacked 12 times (tied for 2nd) this year for 86 yard lost (1st place), yet has 8 passing Tds (tied for 4th) where as 2nd year Blake Bortles doesnt even make the list of top 10 QBs with Tds let alone QB rating...

I do not understand how anyone at this point other than Blake Bortles & his mom could rate him as an elite QB (currently) maybe has potential but you could say that about tons of QBs..

70 out of 81 people that voted on this message board (usually die hard fans) do not think that Blake Bortles has what it takes to get this team to the playoffs this season, that is very telling...

of where Blake Bortles is at in the minds of his fans.

You don't see it. Let's see you have... 1. Brady 2. Rodgers 3. Roethlisberger 4 Ryan 5. Bortles   <---top five.

Haven't you seen how bad Rivers and Luck are struggling? Peyton's lost his arm, Palmer is a result of their system, and Romo chokes. Who else? Wilson? eh...

Well I'm trying to figure their logic. How am I doing?

Funny stuff...

I saw a list that actually had Brady as like number 7 or 8 with Peyton as number 10 might of been PFF I'll have to look for it...

I dont see how anyone doesnt have Brady as number one after watching the games & his stats.

Yeah, that's weird. Him and Rodgers are definitely in a league of their own right now.

I wouldn't say he's a bust. The supporting cast is really questionable. Room for growth but I don't think he hit his ceiling. The team needs to improve as a whole.

No pain, no gain.

I am not giving up on Peyton either, sure he's older & in a new OC system with less weapons but he's not washed up as some would suggest.  I would put the three of them at the top with Tom Brady as #1.

Question for Jag Fans other than pocket awareness which he good at

What does Blake do better than Blaine? Blaine threw a better ball, had a stronger arm,

And their accuracy was almost the same. Let me remind you that Blaine had significantly

Less talent around him too according to media and jag fans

That's funny you think this board is mainly die hard fans. It would be my guess that the 70 of 81 you mention have zero invested in this team or city other than the time that is required for them to spew forth their crap on this board.

Not to mention, passing judgement on the dude after his 17th friggin game. His third in a new system. Talk about very telling.

On a scale from sane to insane, I would say substantially delusional.

Agreed. Blaine had elite talent. Nobody could throw a 5 yard out straight into the dirt at the level Blaine could.

Come on, man. Have you completely forgotten the level of suck that dude was?

Not only that but people have revisionist history because gabbert had a guy called MJD, Blackmon briefly, cecil shorts and a top 10 defense at the time but let the fatcs not get in the way.
