Quote:This concept seems to completely blow your little pea brain. It really isn't that hard, well maybe for most people.

Since you think wikipedia is end all be all source, I will use this better written and actually cited wiki to explain what a journeyman athlete actually is. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Journeyman_%28sports%29

But keep flailing away like a fool. It still doesn't change the fact that Steve Young is yet another example that bringing in a veteren back up can pay the utmost dividends. Way more than your idiotic "0%" chance you gave. LOL!

Keep responding. Lets see how much more ignorant you can make yourself look.
LOL, so he's now a veteren back up, not a Journeyman? Priceless.

In your very link you provided, go to the bottom and it takes you from "Journeyman" to "Journeyman QB". Read and comprehend.

You are on a solo perch my friend, most people, as you refer to above, have already agreed with me in this thread. Let it go.

Quote:What are you talking about?? Steve Young was in the league 6 years before he got his first start.

Quote:Young was 3-16 as a starter in Tampa.

Who doesn't have a clue or obviously access to Google?
Looks like i wasn't the only one to misread stats bud.

Quote:So i see that now, I didn't know. I have learned. Still has no bearing on this silly argument.

But it does have a bearing on blindly trusting certain sources.

I agree. You'd think NFL.COM of all sources should be a good one for NFL stats, geesh.

Quote:NFL.com doesn't always get it right. Young did indeed start 19 games for the Bucs in his first 2 seasons.

I usually go here to find out any NFL players info that I am looking for.

They have been very reliable, as far as I know, about any statistics you want to look up.

http://www.pro-football-reference.com/pl...unSt00.htm

They do indeed have Steve young starting 19 games for Tampa bay, compiling an abysmal 3-16 record as a starter.

I survived the Gus Bradley Error.

Quote:Since we are sourcing wikipedia, this definition of journeyman in the American use of the word fits Henne to a T. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Journeyman_%28sports%29

"In American English, a journeyman or journeywoman is an athlete who is technically competent but unable to excel."

Wow, if that is the meaning of journeyman, then there are a lot more journeyman players in the NFL then I ever imagined, and not just at the QB position.

I survived the Gus Bradley Error.

You need to read it's definition for journeyman QB, link at bottom of that page.

Are you really that dense? Veteran back up and journeyman aren't exclusive.

Take you for example. You can be a poster on this board and a moron. Being one doesn't exclude being the other.

Definition? Its a freaking wiki page. Any random idiot can write a page in wikipedia even you.

Here's an actual definition from an actual dictionary. Merriam-Webster: Journeyman: a worker, performer, or athlete who is experienced and good but not excellent. http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/journeyman

And that actual and genuine definition, perfectly describes the first 8 years or so of Steve Young's career.

So please, feel free to contact Merriam-Webster and let them know that there definition is outdated and they need to add an asterisk for QB because a random wiki is now the ultimate authority on definitions. I'm sure they will be right on top of that for you!

I caught it myself and actually publicly corrected myself and you still tried to argue against it with the same wrong information that I had just publicly corrected.

Talk about not having any reading comprehension. The correct information was offered up right in front of you and it still had to be repeated over again by another poster just to get it through your thick skull.

Predator, you are something else man. Whatever's in your head bud, just ignore the opinions of everyone else.

To address your insults above, I've been wrong 3 times in the thread and realized it and been humble enough to admit it yet you seem to ignore that and continue to spit venom. The one thing I'm not wrong about is what is meant by a journeyman QB, and everyone here knows it. You've somehow tricked yourself into believing the mirage you've created. Sorry, but save face and own it.

Better yet, let's just agree to disagree rather than throwing continuous insults. Sorry to get you all emotional, it's just a football forum.

We knew you were wrong. You just need to learn how to cope when someone points that out instead of arguing, throwing insults, and then only admitting you are wrong after you've shown your rear and created an argument.

You also need to learn that your own personal definition may not actually be the only or the definitive definition for something.

You need to learn and understand these things before you can start calling yourself humble because what you did in this thread is the exact opposite of being humble.

Nobody, even the league managed site, is always 100% accurate, especially when it comes to ancient history by NFL standards.

Boy I sure do have a lot of learning to do!

Do you not see I had already admitted my mistakes but you wouldn't let that go and kept bringing it back up, followed by insults? It's all right here if you need to see it. But you clearly are beyond learning and such a know it all, despite plenty of other posters pointing out otherwise, which you ignore. It's funny to me I got under your skin so badly!

Did I forget NE missed the playoffs under Cassel? Yes.

Did I intend for 0% to be taken so literally? No. Did I explain that immediately after? Yes.

Do I have Steve Youngs stat lines memorized? No. Did I erroneously believe NFL.com? Yes.

Did I own all of the above? Yes.

Is Andy Dalton considered a Journeyman QB? No.

Is he according to your definition? Yes.

Sorry, it's not the way it's used around the league. Sorry there isn't a definition to explain to you the way the phrase is used. Things aren't always black and white and by the book and I know you know I'm right. That is all, you've succeeded to exhausted me over something insanely stupid. If you don't see what I'm saying then I give up, you win.
