You would move Harrison or Cleveland to Lt if we signed an expensive C in FA

^^ In that scenario , Harrison at left tackle and Walker little at right. Walker is better at right I’m guessing. Then you better still figure out left guard, center, and right guard if the sheriff isn’t coming back. Maybe Cleveland will be good with time and an offseason to prepare.

You think he can hold the RT position? He's another finesse guy. Yay. (01-17-2024, 11:47 PM)Jag88 Wrote: ^^ In that scenario , Harrison at left tackle and Walker little at right. Cam isn't the weak point on the line. I wouldn't mess with the tackles. May be Harrison at LT in the future but those two are solid.
Scherff is too expensive for his level of play and we could save over $16 mil if we cut him after 6/1. I think Fortner needs to try his hand at selling insurance next year. Cleveland is still a ? for me. I don't know how good he can be with a full offseason with the team. I'm hoping we can find a solid C in FA because that is the hardest job mentally on the oline and I don't want TL working with another rookie C who isn't experienced enough to help him call the proper protections. I would then focus on drafting a top notch guard to replace Scherff. The season started going down hill when we could no longer run the ball. The continual line up changes with sub par players doomed the running game. If they weren't getting flat out beat, they were missing assignments. It seemed like half the plays no one on the interior knew who they were supposed to block. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

That's his position, RT requires more strength than Little has. If Doug puts Little at RT we will know he has zero interest in a real running game (01-17-2024, 11:56 PM)Predator Wrote: Cam isn't the weak point on the line. I wouldn't mess with the tackles. Walker was perfectly fine at LT to start the season while Cam was suspended. He was playing good football. It wasn't until Cam came back, Walker went to LG and got hurt after the first 12 plays is when the wheels started to come off for him. He missed time due to multiple injuries and bounced back and forth from LT/LG. Could never really find his groove after that. He definitely isn't a Guard. I'd play him at LT because he definitely looks the most natural there. I also think it's hilarious that people think they know his ceiling after seeing him play injured at multiple positions in short samples. Of all his efforts - LT seems his best fit. Furthermore - Your RT positional trait assumption is based on an old model that is rapidly becoming obsolete. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

I wasn't trying to imply we can't switch people rather if their career till now was a specific side/position it will be a tall ask to change them now at the pro level. I expect Walker, if left at guard will get to be close to average in a few years. I see Walker as a tackle.
