The Seahawks showed us their true colors at the end of the game...

The best part of the video is watching #51 hit Gronk and then actually turn and RUNS away lol.

Quote:I'm curious about this term this thug... Is that new N word?

No. because the ball boy who deflated the Pats balls is a thug too.

Sorry, but I'm not going to bow down to the whims of political correctness and not call them "thugs" just for the sake of trying not to hurt other people's feelings. If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, than it's a duck.

I don't understand why a controversy exists around this thread. The Seahawks acted like sore losers and couldn't accept defeat graciously. One of their players got the bright idea to instigate a fight and pandemonium ensued. The players acted completely immature and unprofessional following the game sealing INT while millions of people all around the Country watched. They disgraced their fans, they disgraced their team, and they disgraced the game as a whole. They're thugs. End of story.

Quote:I do agree about this.  It's why the sudden comparisons to Montana sicken me.
I also happen to think Belichick plug in any halfway decent QB for Brady and it won't change much. He's a product of the system he's in. Plenty of Bills fans are waiting for the day Brady retires, and Garoppolo takes over, but I really doubt it will change much. Perhaps the refs might throw a few more flags and he'll throw a few more incompletions, but he'll still have around a 92 QBR.

What if Seattle had not jumped offsides? The Patriots obviously wanted to get in victory formation, but they realized immediately a kneeldown would be a safety and hesitated at the LOS. With the Seahawks trailing by four, would it really hurt to give them two more points and punt at the 20 yard line?

Maybe you are forgetting about the year Tom Brady was on injured reserve. With Matt Cassel starting 15 games, New England missed the playoffs.

Quote:Brady is competitive, trash talking comes with it.  Call him what you want but the dude has a drive to win like no other.  Sometimes his attitude looks poor because of it but the guy wants to win.

We could have used more guys with that attitude and drive throughout the years.

Why? people here defended Garrard for smiling like an idiot after every int.

We don't need a superstar who is always looking to get a win here...

That was in 2008. I would hardly call an 11-5 season and playing for a wild card spot, a bad season. It is a very rare occurrence when an 11-5 team doesn't make playoffs.

According to ESPN, Matt Cassell was the only known quarterback in NFL history to never start in college. He was pretty bad when he left NE.

Frankly, I think this only strengthens my argument that the Patriots* QBs' success is more because of the system they are in.

I was disappointed to see that brawl at the end. We should just accept the loss, It was our fault. But as seen from the video in this thread, it was Gronk who started it.

Am I the only one who think that Brady and Belichick will retire at the same time?

They didn't want to take unnecessary risk. With the way our offense was moving on them in the last drive, we could get those 40 or so yards in around 20 seconds to get into a long FG range.

I remember Pete Carroll did take a safety against the Panthers in 2012, but then we lead for 4 points (after safety), so the Panthers needed a TD in last minute. It was also a defensive game. Cam Newton didn't move the ball all game long, so it was understandable call.

I could say alot of things here. (I hope FBT is watching so I can get banned again) You are completely stupid and honestly stereotypical if not a bit racist. You are categorizing men who are more educated, talented, and more wealthy than you are sir. To judge these men when they havent done a thuggish thing is ignorant. Is Emmit Smith a "thug"? Is Demarrious Thomas a "thug"? Is Deion Sanders a "thug"? But Sherman, Lynch, Thomas, Chancellor, etc are "thugs"? They haven't committed a crime or broken any significant rules. How are they "thugs"?

Lets not even forget that the blow that had drawn the flag was from the Seattle LB, was actually in reaction to a "thuggish" move by your beloved Gronk. No one is blaming him or bashing him or calling him a  big country bama bully. Its fans/people like you that make it hard for the game to be pure and for others to have fun. You sir are stupid. Plain stupid.

It seems to me that what people really mean when they say they are "thugs" is that they are "sports thugs" and not the typical thug you think of in regular life.

Sports thug is really just defined as really bad, poor or unsportsmanlike behavior on the field of play, whichever sport they might play.

There is a difference between "sports thugs" and real life thugs and the behavior of each one.

A thug is not defined by one's color, but by one's actions. It's the same with ""sports thugs".

I survived the Gus Bradley Error.

I want to see if he agrees to this post and then I may retract "some" of what I said.

I think it can be.  Sometimes it's right on the money but other times it definitely has some pretty obvious undertones.  I don't think a real "thug" would post this:

Quote:You just said their behavior matches the definition of thug.

"Because thug is by definition how they acted?"

http://jungle.jaguars.com/index.php?/top.../?p=431288

I provided the dictionary.com definition of thug and it didn't match their behavior.

Now you don't want to argue semantics?!?

Either their behavior matched the definition of thug or it doesn't.

Now you offer the above operational (read:made up) definition of thug.

If someone walked up to you and your wife (assuming, for argument's sake, you are married), and called her a "[BAD WORD REMOVED]" and said what kind of filthy things he was going to do to her and dared you to do something...are you saying you would not respond physically?

You would not be, an any way, angered?  You wouldn't respond in kind with words intended to provoke?

Well, their actions did match the definition.

What I would do is irrelevant to the definition of the word thug. Why would I attack someone because they were an [BLEEP] to my wife? Do I have no self-control? I like to believe we live in a some-what civilized society. Would I stand up to them and defend her? Sure. If they touched her, I would definitely retaliate.

However, If you believe assaulting another over a game of football isn't cruel or vicious though, then in the name of the Dude, I say "Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man."
