Bills free-agent S Jairus Byrd is on his way to New Orleans to visit the Saints, per source.

Poop. I know there is no public knowledge of the Jags having interest but I'm still hoping something happens.

We need a centerfield ball hawk. Like the ByrdMan.

The Saints are going to have to replace Malcolm Jenkins, as he signed with the Eagles. While Jenkins had a good payday, this will seem like pocket change compared to what Jarius Byrd will get with the team he signs with.

This has been a great day for many UFA Safeties. With former Colts S Antoine Bethea now being the latest:

Julius Peppers released.

That makes sense with former Bears Def. Coordinator/ D-Line Coach Rod Marinelli now in those roles in Dallas. Not to mention the release of Demarcus Ware.

As for Julius Peppers, he's the latest example of being yesterday's football treasure and today's football trash. Four years ago, Peppers was the prize of the UFA crop.

Verner to the Bucs

Seems like the Bucs got a decent deal. I thought he would get a deal similar to Sam Shields.

Sheilds is a a good player but he is one of the most overpaid players in free agency this year IMO. I would rather Verner.

Oh I agree, that's why I was so surprised he didn't get a similar deal.

Jaguars free agency acquisitions didn't even make NFL.com or ESPN main page. The only info that made the main page regarding the Jaguars was the Gabbert trade. Typical Jaguars front office, el cheapo. Only acquired a bunch of avg bench 2nd string players.
