Lonnie Pryor Signs with Tampa Bay

Quote:Can't you just imagine the Locker Room's collective reaction if Ol' Gus did what he suggested?!?!

Gus: "Hey guys. Look, Lonnie over there wants to go sign somewhere else. I know that I've been preaching to you guys about getting better and competing and all of that, but if we don't get Lonnie some playing time, he's gonna leave. So what we're going to do, by any amount of inspection, is to make a bad situation worse. I know, I know; it looks crazy and possibly even traitorous from your perspecitve, but we're gonna let Lonnie here run the ball a few times so that he can stick on the roster."
Irrelevant!

Hey remember that backup fullback we cut and put on the practice squad? He's the new starting running back.

At least as much as the position coaches have to do with Pryor going to TB.

Ba-da-bum.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but they'd also have to cut someone to make room for him.

Not bench, cut.  Or place on IR under specious circumstances.

Bingo.

"So since we need to give Lonnie what he wants and not really let him earn it... Todman? Pack your things."

It's still hilarious that we're having all this talk over a guy from the practice squad. I know we aren't used to it, but good teams lose guys from their PSs all the time and it barely registers on the box scores page.

It must have been because those coaches are bad and the player thought he would get better coaching on the team he signed with.

Why would he have to do it the way that you cite up there? If he was smart he could find ways to get the desired result without the above ridiculous scenario.

Gus & Caldwell both claimed they wanted Pryor to stay - yes or no? Ok, since we both know the answer to that question is "yes" then you find a way to keep him here, otherwise, don't give me the above nonsense.

This is the difference between a coach like JImmy Johnson who is a master at psychology and a novice like Gus Bradley. Jimmy if presented with the same scenario would have found a way to keep the player if  the interest in wanting to keep the player was sincere.

because we all know that teams never find creative ways to stash players on IR.....

You're so full of feces it's pathetic. You're making yourself look like even more of a fool...If that's even possible.

But by all means, continue to show what a posterior you are. We've all grown accustomed to it.

You can't hang on to every PS guy.  Nature of the business.  The kid wanted to get on the field. He probably wouldn't do that here till next year.  Big whoop.

Oh jeepers creepers, you won a fantasy football game. What will I do? What will I do?

That's OK. It's not important to me to pretend like I'm something that I'm not. The Lord and master of everything sports related.

Pathetic.

I find it a tad ironic that you would call anyone clown. Funny really.
