The Real Marty- yes, imagine getting to the playoffs, then watching Brady/Belichick attack Herndon relentlessly. At that point you just say thanks, Jalen.

I'm not saying players and agents don't know or agree to the contracts.

Just that contracts aren't followed to the full extent of what their years say, for both parties.

This is not directly in response to your post, but I just wanted to add, I disagree with the notion that players or management do not follow the terms of the contracts.  Contracts allow for players refusing to play, or for owners to cut guys before the term of the contract is up.

The contract says, if you play in the NFL, you have to play for us, and if you play for us, we have to pay you X$.   Players can quit, and not get paid, or refuse to play, and not get paid, or owners can cut a player.  None of that is breaking a contract.  The contracts allow for that.  No contract says a player has to play.  No contract says a player cannot be cut.  The contract says, if you don't play, you don't get paid.  The player can just go home and not play without violating the contract.

Because all the contract says is, if you play, you have to play for us, and if you play for us, we have to pay you X dollars.

Exactly.

Like he said, it just says, IF you play you can ONLY play for US and we will pay you X.

Hopefully they leave him in Jax. As Chuck Noll used to say, if you can’t play for us, you can’t help us.

I feel like his head would explode

Sorry but I'm still not angry at Ramsey.

I thought the ramsey thread was locked?
Seems it just migrated over here....enough already...just play on and win Jaguars!

I have back problems.. I can totally relate to what he is saying. You tweak it and you’re spending months trying to get back to normal. I couldn’t imagine the amount of abuse their bodies go through. I’ve blown my back out sneezing.

From the interview, he said all the right things.

I get everyone has an opinion but I agree with you. That's the thing with back injuries. They stop you doing anything, you use your back anytime you move. Now we dont know what the issue is, it could be anywhere on the pain scale but people are jumping straight to it's fake.

Plus its about being able to play football at a top level with thr injury. Is it worth having a 50% healthy Jalen out there? Plus were in week 5. Why risk losing him for all the season if a few weeks rest will help?

Obviously passions are high, but I agree that back injuries can be so painful.

Diggs and a 1st round pick, I'd be pretty intrigued. We got our guy in Minshew. Get this man some weapons!

If we trade Ramsey, the thing we will need more than anything is a CB.   I like our WRs already.

Yeah we will, but Chark and Diggs would be a pretty nasty combo and then throw in Westbrook as the 3rd.

I very specifically said the years, not the terms. Most contracts are short term deals in terms of security these days.

It's been a common occurrence for players to use leverage to try get better terms, more money, or a new team. This isn't a new thing to hit the NFL like Rico implied

Do you guys think there's a chance he's acting like he's got a slight injury because he might want to be traded, and this is how he can rock the boat enough to get that wish while still getting paid?

That's 100% what I think is happening. He'd probably be playing all these weeks if there was no trade request even if he may have a back strain (he even mentioned his back has been the exact same way before but he played)

Playin' possum to get traded seems silly, but here we are. The entire "disrespect" nonsense is silly in and of itself to begin with. Now this...

Great talent, messed up head.

I wonder if Khan would change his mind if Ramsey were caught faking injuring. I don't know if he is but the timing is remarkable.

I think Khan and everyone else in the organization is fully aware that Ramsey has an injury that he'd typically play through, but he's milking it to sit out games because of his trade request.

Diggs has a big cap hit.  Don't want him.

I want a 2020 1st+2021 1st or 2020 2nd.

But I would be willing to take a big salary for a guy like CB Patrick Peterson, who's almost 30 but would fill in nicely for Ramsey for the next couple seasons until we can find a replacement through the draft.  If the Cards were willing to give up their 1st (will be a high 1st)+Peterson for Ramsey, I'd take it.

Doubt Arizona would do it though considering it might be the 1st overall pick.

I put this in the other thread also. The Jags are playing within the rules, but they are letting Ramsey hang himself. They are playing chess thinking 3 moves ahead while Ramsey is playing checkers.

They let him go him see his kid, but he ended up coming back for the PR. They nurse his back injury and don't say a word. They need say let's go see a specialist, probably go see 2. Then when nothing is wrong and he still is hurt, put him on IR. Remove the cameras from him. Leak that he is fine or just let IR do the damage to him.

IR removes his TV time and people forget about him. It also cuts into his next deal. Leaking he is faking hurts him by cutting into his next deal. Ramsey loses either way, just like Yannick. These players have stupid agents or don't listen to them.

If that is the case, I hope every single person not only in the locker room but in the league lose respect for him. Abandoning his team mates.

Not all agents fault. Lack of integrity stems from bad or no parenting at all.  Jalen Ramsey had zero integrity.
