Quote:Is the LA stadium a dome?

It is going to be a huge multipurpose sports and entertainment complex. Si yeah, they obviously will be playing indoors.

Quote:Is it really that hard to put two and two together? Kroenke has spent the last few years quietly building up an airtight "let me into LA or else" scenario. If the owners had blocked him, either explicitly by saying no or implicitly by allowed the Raiders and Chargers to move, he could have gone to court and slaughtered the league. That's in both a legal sense by exposing the NFL to anti-trust laws and in a PR sense by forcing the NFL to open its books.

Up until whoever owns the Rams at that point decides that they want a new stadium and LA won't approve public funds--I don't think Kroenke really intends to be around for the long haul---they could have an official attendance of two people per game and no one in the league office would care. LA isn't about butts in seats. It's about appeasing the NFL's broadcast partners, who've wanted a team in LA since 1995.

You sound like a person who did not read my entire post. If the NFL was just worried about what Stan Kroenke would do if they blocked him, the committee's recommendation would have been for Inglewood, not Carson. I specifically asked why owners went against the recommendation.

Quote:Did anyone else find it very difficult to watch Rams games due to the odd multicolored turf?

It wasn't always that way (during their good years) but they did something different a few years ago to blend in light green.

I have no problem with it, but also can't remember their field being that way before this season. It does not make games harder to watch.

Quote:The Raiders apparently are expected to get the stadium they want in Oakland.

If you are paying attention, the reality is that they're not expected to get the stadium they want in Oakland. They got $100 million to go towards a half billion dollar funding gap for a new facility. Davis made it clear coming out of that meeting that the only option that wasn't on the table was moving the team to St. Louis.

Screw em.

Many of them were ambivalent about losing the Rams, saying words to the effect of "oh it's okay if we lose the Rams. We'll just get the Jaguars."

They are baseball first, anyway.

Does this look like the Raiders want to get out of Oakland?

Quote:The Raiders -- the third team that had L.A. aspirations -- withdrew their application for relocation on Tuesday and will work with the league toward a stadium solution, most likely in Oakland.

Rams fans in St. Louis should read this article if they think the Jaguars are coming:

You sound like a person who hasn't ready any other posts. Going from public proceedings, where owners were more inclined to stand behind Spanos and Davis, to secret ballots, where they were more inclined to not get nuked, changed the game.

You are seriously the best troll ever. I can't help but challenge you, yet I know that you're over there laughing. Touche, madam, touche. I have been bested.

a) You can have a huge multipurpose sports and entertainment complex and still have the football field be outdoors.

b.) No, the committee's recommendation would not have necessarily been for Inglewood if the owners were worried about Kroenke. And if you bothered trying that thing called google or just readings some of the links in this thread, you would have quickly learned the reason why the owners went against the recommendation. It was a secret vote and there is exponentially more money in LA. The St. Louis proposal sold stadium naming rights for about $160 million. Jerry Jones was quoted as saying "That would buy a lobby in LA". The owners are pretty much all old rich people. What do old rich people usually prefer? Getting richer!!!!

c) And it does not make the games harder to watch for you. Your experience is not definitive for every other NFL fan; your experience is not the standard by which all others are measured.

“It just shows what kind of team we are. We’re a tough team. We like contact. We’re very physical. We want the issue to be brought to us so we can show people we can stand up to it and overcome it. Seeing that’s just a symbol of our team and who we are.” - Jaguars DT Malik Jackson

All the concept art shows that its not a dome, well so far given it can change. But as it stands it doesnt look like it will be a dome nor will they be playing inside.

I also read it will have a glass roof. That is a great idea for over the football field.

If Dean Spanos is going to move the Chargers to LA, from the standpoint of financial success in LA, he should make the move ASAP. The reason being, the Rams have a much longer history in LA than the Chargers. Even with 25 % of Chargers sales coming from the LA area, most of that area could currently care less about the Chargers. If the Rams get a major head start in LA, Spanos might never be able to get the Chargers to the point that they are more than the 2nd team in LA.

NFL making considerable progress on final deal that would bring Chargers to LA very quickly. A formal decision on that likely not far off..

NFL has framework of a stadium deal between the rams/chargers. Chargers vetting it now and barring anything unforeseen, plan on going to LA

Quote:Not true. There must be an unresolved stadium issue for a team to be eligible for relocation. That rules out the Jaguars.

No it doesn't. The rules state the league won't permit a team to move IF they have to break a stadium lease to do so. The stadium lease requires the Jaguars to pay for it's use but if the Jaguars move yet continue to pay the lease they are not in breach of the lease. It would be peanuts for Khan to pay the city another $25 million, or whatever the lease terms are, to fulfill his requirement.

Wow D6. Dean Spanos had been saying the whole time he does not want to work with Stan Kroenke. He added he will take a break and spend some time thinking about his options. In June there will be an election in San Diego for funding a new stadium. All signs pointed to delaying his decision on moving to Los Angeles. Now what are voters going to do on Election Day?
