Quote:"The good organizations are the patient ones that believe in continuity." We don't know what we have with Bortles yet. All signs point to him being a good QB at this level. One game into his second year and you've already determined he's not the guy? There are NFL franchises who want to have a look at your crystal ball if you know this already. Why aren't they knocking down your door? Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

It's the offense that has been the primary struggle. So, no, it's not week 33. We're in week 2 no matter how desperately you want to spin it. Oh sure just hire a new coach every year and the past is erased. "Year 35 of the Gus era and the Jags have won 50 total games. But we have a new towel boy this year and we changed the flavor of the Gatorade in the coolers so let's give him another 10 years to see how it plays out. Compete and get better everyday that's what it's all about man!"
Make the Jags Great Again
Blake Bortles......YOU'RE FIRED! Dave Caldwell.....YOU'RE FIRED!
Quote:You had him all figured out in week one, right twitch?I could only hope tubbs. But the chances of Gus leading this team to anything relevant this season are about as slim as you eating a salad for once. Quote:It's week 33. It's the same crap every year. Loss after loss. Smiling Gus at the press conference selling us a bill of goods "I saw a lot of good things out there we just have to compete and get better everyday." Yet we haven't gotten better. ZERO impact players. Cyprien still blowing coverages and whiffing tackles. Joeckel is still a turnstile. Blake still throwing pick 6s. The defense still can't get off the field on 3rd down. The offense still goes 3 and out half the time they are out there. Gus hires a crappy college coordinator to run a dink and dunk bubble screen offense. Fires him and hires a crappy pro coordinator (32nd ranked offense) to run a dink and dunk bubble screen offense. Point on Quote:FBT has told anybody that would listen to be patient for a number of years. "This is a process." "We are building the right way." "Just be patient, it will all turn around if we just believe!" FBT is just like all of us. He is fan.I always was into the hype to because I am a fan. That does not make me a idiot. Quote:FBT is just like all of us. He is fan.I always was into the hype to because I am a fan. That does not make me a idiot. I don't anyone is disputing the fact if he is a fan or not. The problem with FBT is that he criticizes other fans who questions the team's lack of progress. He tells us that we should trust what the organization is telling us but must of us aren't buying that crap anymore. Quote:I could only hope tubbs. It wasn't getting any better. So, why does it seem so unreasonable considering the way they blew this roster up and how they've rebuilt it to give them the time they say they need in order to turn things around. Caldwell, Bradley, and Khan have all been on the same page in saying that year 3 is the year where the team needs to make that turn. We've played exactly one game of year 3.I don't think it's time to cut bait and tear the whole thing down. I think a decent half measure would be having Marrone take over next year to guarantee a sense of continuity. You get the best of all worlds, a new leader, but without having to change scheme at all. Continuity is exactly why the Marrone thing makes sense. You aren't going to lure a quality coach here by saying "you have to keep the same coordinators in place." That's how you end up with Mike Mularkey. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:This is funny stuff. Sad and depressed inside? Yeah, okay. That's why we're the ones leaving a trail of tears on the board instead of preaching patience. Your so out of touch fat boy. your always the last one to know that we suck because you believe in this crappy process so hard. What a hypocrite. Quote:We don't know what we have with Bortles yet. There are NFL franchises who want to have a look at your crystal ball if you know this already. Why aren't they knocking down your door?I don't know how you could watch his play dating back to last year and say "ALL SIGNS" are pointing to him being good. He has had 2 good preseasons, and has yet to play a complete game of quality quarterback. That's troubling. There are far more question marks with him than certainties. He's big, mobile, and has an OK arm. But he has flawed mechanics at times, and has a habit of making abysmal decisions with the football when facing adversity. He also doesn't handle the blitz well at all. So what are all these "signs" you speak of, because I'm not seeing it. All of the quality quarterbacks in the league have shown signs of being special within their first two seasons (this was usually reflected by statistics as well). This year is huge for him. It will go a long way in determining whether or not we should have any confidence in him going forward, or if we need to start looking elsewhere.

You guys need to watch the TNF game and just see how a team can turn around after a couple of years.
The Chiefs picked 1st overall in 2013 and Eric Fisher was a bust, but that does't matter because of how stacked their roster is. The coaching is superb, and they have a QB that doesn't throw pick sixes consistently. It shouldn't take THIS long to be good... It's ridiculous what we have to go through. Quote:You guys need to watch the TNF game and just see how a team can turn around after a couple of years.Exactly. It really doesn't take 4 years. If you draft well, those guys should be playing well by year 2. Add some quality free agents and an adequate quarterback to the mix, and there you go. Unfortunately we really don't have a lot to hang our hat on right now. Even if you include injured players, this team doesn't have a lot of WOW guys on offense. The 2014 draft was a good receiver draft, and we took 2 in the second round. it's about time to see some production from them. We show less advertisements to registered users. That's all there is to it. If we suck again this year it'll get blown up. If not it won't. Pretty simple.
I also think your head coach needs to be innovative and a bit of an egomaniac. Bradley just doesn't seem to possess those qualities. He's pretty indecisive, and not even sure of the rules all the time.
Quote:It is time. We are week 2 in the year that we should be making a turn. That's all there is to it.I think that's the thing people are missing.... Yeah, it's just the start of year 3, but at some point those wins have to come if we are going to see a turn around. We let one get away last week. This game is the most winnable of the next 3, and we desperately need it. You can't count on the light coming on late in the season and winning 4 or 5 games in a row. Some of those wins have to come early on if you're planning to get to 6 or 7 wins. |
