Quote:What?  Who the hell is Jeremy Parnell?  This guy started 5 games last year and had really good players all around him.  I really hope we haven't given up on signing an elite RT like Bulaga.
It is not too hard to find a number of experts/analysts who thought Parnell was better than Bulaga. Obviously not the majority, but we got a good one regardless.

Why would he do that?  It's so easy to say ahhhh, I've never heard of him!  He sucks!

This is a young ascending player with relatively low miles on him. Bulaga is an established guy with injury concerns and asking for a huge contract. I understand why the Jags signed Parnell, and I think him and Paznar will do a fine job of holding down the fort next season.

that's pretty ridiculous considering Bulaga was elite in pass protection.  All you have to do is watch the games.

Parnell has started 7 games in like 5 years.

he's 28 years old.  that isn't "young"

and by "ascending" I guess you mean he played some games because Doug Free got hurt

Its also quite possible Parnell will provide competition for both tackle spots. Luke better bring his A game this year.

Quote:Actually after just sorting by RT salaries he is top 5 (pre Bulaga/Barksdale deals) at the position so we definitely ponied up to get him.

Just thinking the same thing.  It is a little pricey, but in the end, its doable.  The rumors are that Bulaga wants 8 million, which is definitely overpriced for a RT.

<p class="" style="color:rgb(41,47,51);font-family:Arial, sans-serif;">Parnell might be my favorite OL in Free Agency, especially value wise. Powerrrr vs 99.

Well. Your mind is closed, so I wont bother telling you that Olineman can play well in to their 30s.

Go ahead and whine.

that's fine.  I'm saying I hope this isn't the only tackle signed.

it's possible Bulaga has already told Dave, "no thanks" but paying Parnell 6.5 per year is concerning when a guy like Bulaga is reportedly asking for 8 mil.

I didn't say they can't.  If the guy had more than 7 starts in his entire career then I'd be more inclined to think he is any good.

Julius/Parnell are basically done

Odrick/Demarco possibilities

We still need a WR and FS. Id also like a center and someone on d-line to compete with roy. A corner is also an option as well.

@ESPNdirocco Was told by a league source that #Jaguars never had interest in OT Bryan Bulaga. After Jermey Parnell all along.

With the cap going up so much this year and next, the dollar amounts of these contract are going to keep skyrocketing.
