I know. These incidents reflect poorly on the league and the game. Hopefully the Pats will shut down all clandestine operations now.

Hopefully the Colts will too since their balls were also deflated. Of course we don't hear about that for some reason. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato

I wonder what the procedure will be now as far as security of the footballs and air measurements. The NFL has not said anything about changes in that department, have they?
I wouldn't be surprised if Goodell throws a few 3rd, 4th, and 5th round picks back their way during the next compensatory handout or two.

They said they will be reviewing procedures and expect to make changes. Funny how that effort only comes after the fact, given the knowledge they had in advance. All about the money (fine revenue) and the story.

Tom Brady* performed a fabulous, compelling 11-hour denial yesterday, sticking to his story that IF any tampering with the footballs happened, he certainly knew nothing about it. There was no new evidence or testimony provided regarding deflated footballs or Tom's relationship with anybody who may have tampered with them, but plenty of accusations by Brady against all who had questioned him, and a note from Robert Kraft saying Tom was a great guy.

If Kraft's involvement in the Hernandez Trial is any indication... Brady's about to get his suspension increased >_>
I was wrong about Trent Baalke.
Quote:They said they will be reviewing procedures and expect to make changes. I've seen this a few times. They let him cheat so they could make money off of this? Do you knwo how much money the NFL makes?! The fine money in this case is a drop in the bucket. If you know somebody is cheating, why would you take away their opportunity to cheat? Wouldn't you rather catch them cheating so they could get in trouble for it? If I knew a guy was breaking into homes, I would let the guy break into another and catch him in the act so that he would face punishment instead of locking down all the homes and leave the possibility there in the future.

The truth lies in the text messages....yet he wont release them. Shocking.
The still have yet to prove any tampering occurred. This is beyond absurd.

Somebody just reported that Brady actually said nothing the whole 10 hours and just let the lawyers do the talking. If true, it makes sense. Brady's a systemec cheater and it's easy to look smug when nobody suspects you, but he and Belichick are lousy liars when directly confronted.
But Brady hasn't been able to do the smug thing since this started. The eyes are dead and the smile is fake. http://si.wsj.net/public/resources/image...095920.jpg
I think Brady may win this. I'm not sure they have enough evidence on Brady.
Quote:The still have yet to prove any tampering occurred. This is beyond absurd. What do you mean proof? Sure they don't know who deflated the balls, when they deflated them, how they deflated them, where they deflated them, or if the balls were actually deflated, but other than that I think it's a pretty clear cut case. I mean, the report is 243 pages! We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:I think Brady may win this. I'm not sure they have enough evidence on Brady. And isn't he getting in trouble for not working with the investigation, not the softer balls? Pretty easy to prove he didn't assist the investigators.
What in the Wide Wide World of Sports is agoin' on here???
Quote:And isn't he getting in trouble for not working with the investigation, not the softer balls? Pretty easy to prove he didn't assist the investigators.Correct. Maybe he figured if he filibustered for 11 hours, that would make that matter go away? Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Quote:And isn't he getting in trouble for not working with the investigation, not the softer balls? Pretty easy to prove he didn't assist the investigators. Exactly. If he was innocent, wouldn't it be pretty easy to prove through the text? If I had nothing to hide, I would just hand them over. |
