Remember when we talked about what it would take to relocate?

Quote:I don't know about 'moving the team' and all the business rhetoric involved with contracts, leasing, depreciation, and so on. To be honest, I just don't worry about it, I've got other things more worthy of my attention. As far as the stadium is concerned, I view all the new 'stuff' as distractions from what the core fans really wanted at Everbank stadium... a winning home team! As it is, the pools and cabanas are only for a very few to enjoy; tough luck for the rest of us.

The one thing that would be an improvement that ALL of us could enjoy would be a covered stadium. I have no reason to expect it to happen as I think the city would probably have to help foot the bill and the money just isn't there for it. It's just my thought on what would have been a very pleasant upgrade for all of us to enjoy. Maybe one with the top that can be mechanically opened and closed to keep the seats out of the direct intense sunlight or fully closed on rainy days. The two sides of the world's largest billboard/scoreboard that isn't used so much could be used to show shots of the river and ocean on sunny, hot game days. Of course when fully closed during anticipated hot weather, the stadium would be fully air conditioned for the comfort of the fans.

That would be the one thing (outside of actually having a winning team...) that would make coming to the stadium more desirable than staying home and watching games on the television. As it is, unless your fortunate enough to get seats so that you are in a shaded area on the west side of the stadium during the hot months during the 1:00pm games, you can count on being uncomfortably hot and getting sunburned, as well as having to deal with the glare of the sun during most of the game. Given the teams losing ways over the past seven years or so, why suffer in an uncomfortable environment and pay good money to watch a sub-par product on the field?

Of course, an alternative is for the team to have a winning season for a change... now that would be worth going out and getting dehydrated and getting my bald head scorched for! Then again, it might be easier to cover the stadium...

Just my thoughts on this stuff. Like I said, I've got bigger fish to fry than worrying about the Jags moving to London.

I think there are indeed plans to put a roof over the stadium.

I think right now it's more of a concept for discussion that an actual plan.   I've seen some drawings, but I remember Lamping saying it was just an idea.

Psst... take a look around.  You're the biggest loser, particularly in this cesspool of a thread.  I'd suggest you stop embarassing yourself if it weren't so entertaining, but you couldn't comprehend that that's the position you've put yourself in anyway.

Something an owner ready to move the team would certainly do, for sure...

it's not like he's paying for all of it

I never suggested to know what is in Khan's head.  I just put forward an idea that there is more going on here than meets the eye.  Something you will never understand since you buy every word spoken at a public press conference.  lmbo

Some of us actually know folks, and don't rely on our limited imagination, such as yourself.

if Khan did have a relocation scenario in the back of his mind, do you think these "folks" would tell you?  or that they would even have knowledge of it?  ha

Most here don't just take people at their words.  The actions of the owner pretty much trump anything he's said.  He's investing heavily in the local community aside from the team, establishing roots here.  He's using his profile as an NFL owner and an internationally successful entrepreneur to promote the city of Jacksonville on a global scale in order to grow a small market.  There's nothing more going on here than meets the eye.  This is just classic paranoid trolling at its finest.

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

I agree what you are saying is more than likely the case.  I still think it's possible that an ulterior motive exists for all the big spending going on.

The Rams fans are the pawns in the Kroenke playhouse.  I am still very satisfied with the ownership and business ideas presented.  I just wish the product on the field would catch up to the imagination of the owner.

Fans deserve better. Thanks for all the good times too many are in the past.

It's not even remotely possible, but keep grasping at straws if it helps maintain your misery.

The product on the field is the slowest thing to turn around, but it will happen.

No, I just have the capacity to look at what they're doing to build the market here, and I'm smart enough to recognize they are doubling down on their commitment to Jacksonville.  Shame you're not.

That could also be used as an excuse to leave.  "Hey we made big commitments to Jacksonville, look at everything we did, and people wouldn't show up."

The truth is we keep losing year after year after year like we have been and people WILL stop showing up.

You keep telling yourself that.  Don't forget to keep your tinfoil hat handy.

This team hasn't had a winning season in how long?  The fans continue to show a level of support for this team despite the losing records.

While YOU may consider jumping ship because you don't want to support a perceived loser, there are tens of thousands of people who have financially committed to supporting the team through their ticket purchases, and the numbers have increased in each of the past few years with season ticket sales.

Feel free to jump off the bandwagon any time.

I know.  City has been great. Rah rah.  After a while even the most loyal supporters will start to drop off.  Im just saying at some point the season ticket sales will drop off significantly.  The lack of people (Jaguars fans specifically) in the stands is evidence of this imo.

Or they won't, because the team will improve.

If you think the empty seats on Sunday are any indicator of a lack of fan support, you're one of the biggest buffoons on this board.  Clearly, you're just trolling with this thread.  Otherwise, the level of ignorance you've put on display here is staggering.
