How Will Bortles Survive Behind This Line!
|
Quote:ehhh.... I don't know if I agree with that... We could have very well been 2-1, possibly 3-0 if BB5 was starting from week 1... More wins don't matter though. We're all happy throwing away games by playing worse players. Just don't do it for a better draft pick, because we're not into that. We show less advertisements to registered users. Can't you read I did answer your question in my last post.
All the infighting on this post is funny. What is no funny is our O-Line, They really need help. However, it seems that putting Bortles in the game seemed to help them find more consistency.
Let's all wish Bortles a healthy season. Quote:There's no way to know what we would have seen from Bortles had they started him week one. Would it have been better? Probably. But I hat would have been at risk? Behind that line, quite a bit. Putting him in when they did was the right move. The team was out of the game, and it was a defense with a weak pass rush. A good place to get experience.I was expecting a competitive team and to trust the coaching staff to make the right decisions. Clearly I didn't get any of my wants. Looking back sitting him was the wrong decision period. Henne had 2 good throws to hurns and a busted td with lewis. The rest of his play stunk horribly. ![]() Quote:this team is progressing, and that while the process isn't enjoyable, the team is getting better. It's young, but improving.Talk about blind. This team has not gotten any better. It's gotten younger but it certainly has not gotten better. The jags are not even competitive on Sundays. I don't see improvement. The hope is Bortles brings improvement but outside of that no. Of course it will get better because it can't get any worse. Down 30-0 in your own house is atrocious. ![]() We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:Maybe for the first few plays coming out of halftime. They certainly got back to their seats in a hurry once they realized he was out there. I personally don't think this team is progressing or improving. Blake is literally my only hope that this team will show some signs of life.

I'm not so sure we'd be 2-1, especially with that line and a rookie qb. Both Philly and Washington have proven to be good teams. Indy wasn't what their record reflected. I think we need to take a deep breath with the hype and let's see what happens the rest of this season. Hopefully he isn't injured and he continues to progress. I think all of us want him to succeed, and we all recognize he's the better qb on the roster. I would just hate to see us forcing the issue here. It sets unreasonable expectations for a very young team. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

He has 2 1/2 games less experience than he should have at this point. Possibly even more important, the O-line and receivers have not had that 2 1/2 games to get used to him! Suppose next week we lose a close game plagued by false starts and QB-receivers out of sync? Will you realize then sitting him did hurt? Why do you think the starter takes reps with the first string all week?
When you get into the endzone, act like you've been there before.
Quote:I personally don't think this team is progressing or improving. How do you really expect to see improvement with all the injuries right now, compiled with all the rookies playing? I don't expect much from the offense until later in the season. The defense is puzzling though. I mostly believe its a matter of being on the field too much because of henne and the abysmal offense.
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."
Quote:Understanding the decision is different from supporting it. You get that, right? Hmm u were def in full support. Everybody understood why they waited but that doesnt mean everybody agreed with the decision. I agree its not even really a big deal. But whatever. Im just of the opinion that it was a derp moment of our history to keep rolling with henne when we had this special guy in Bortles who was ready to start learning from game experience week 1. Really? Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

You have to admit the minute Bortles started playing, everybody started improving. There is something to that. Quote:Hmm u were def in full support. I guess because I didn't claim to know better than the coaches, that somehow equates to full support in your world. Never argue with idiots. Putting him in when they did was the right move. The team was out of the game, and it was a defense with a weak pass rush. A good place to get experience. That "weak pass rush" sacked Henne 3 times in 10 drops (3 sacks plus 7 pass attempts). OTOH, Bortles was sacked twice (including the one called back by penalty) in 26 drops. By my reasoning a large part of the problem with pass blocking has been eliminated by the QB change. "Why should I give information to you when all you want to do is find something wrong with it?"

Wait until next Sunday to judge how much better Bortels is gonna make the o-line. |
