Dalvin Cook wants to be a Jaguar! Bring him on!
|
Quote: He had one big run that padded his stats. Other than that one play, I didn't see anything that stood out.1 big run that was 71 yards? 145 yards rushing 62 receiving. I think he had more than 1 big run on the #2 defense in cfb. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:I think you can separate the person from the football player fairly easily if you try. Not all of them. The fact that so many football fans are willing to forgive anything as long as the player helps their team is distressing. If Ted Bundy could've been a star NFL player, he probably would've been cheered as well and certain people would be arguing to give him a second chance. Some football fans put winning above EVERYTHING. Quote:I think you can separate the person from the football player fairly easily if you try.Guess where Hill went in the draft because of it? Go look at all "the world is ending" posts from KC media/fans after it happened. Again, I'll love seeing Dalvin in teal if we draft him. Doesn't change the fact he has concerns. Since we're in a Jaguars forum with a ton of FSU fans, it's just rainbows and butterflies though when discussing him. He can do no wrong. "You talk down about Dalvin? Must be a Gators fan. He can't hurt you no more..." Like seriously? lol. Okay... Quote:1 big run that was 71 yards? 145 yards rushing 62 receiving. I think he had more than 1 big run on the #2 defense in cfb. A 71 yard run...on 3rd and 22...against the 2nd ranked defense in the country...when everyone knew a draw to Dalvin was coming... Quote:1 big run that was 71 yards? 145 yards rushing 62 receiving. I think he had more than 1 big run on the #2 defense in cfb. 145-71= 74 yards on 19 carries. Not that impressive. 145-71= 74 Quote:145-71= 74 yards on 19 carries. Not that impressive. But hey, Foreman gashing that Texas Tech defense sure is impressive! Quote:145-71= 74 yards on 19 carries. Not that impressive.Wait does that run not count or the 62 yards receiving?
Quote:But you're impressed with a guy who padded his stats against defenses like this? It's not all about stats. Besides, what else is Foreman supposed to do? He didn't make up the schedule. He can only play against the opponents he is given. He led the NCAA in rushing so even if you took away 500 yards from his stats, because of a soft schedule, he's still impressive. Not to mention that he has no red flags for off the field issues. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:Not all of them. Quote:Wait does that run not count or the 62 yards receiving? The 62 yards receiving is half credited to the QB. If you've ever watched Texas football, they never throw the ball to the RB's, because the QB is so inept. You can only make the most of the opportunities you are given.

Frankly tired of caring what every player does off the field. Young men make mistakes. I care more if they can play football. Watching Dalvin play for 3 years sure looks like he can play football.
I will welcome him with open arms if we pick him. He can play football. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:Guess where Hill went in the draft because of it? Go look at all "the world is ending" posts from KC media/fans after it happened. Yep after it happened they were dismayed. Now? Delighted with him. Talent is more important to the NFL and to most fans than off the field stuff, within reason. Marvin Harrison and Ray Lewis killed people but are both loved by their respective fan bases. Quote:Yep after it happened they were dismayed. Now? Delighted with him. Justin Houston was a top edge prospect a few years back, then smoked pot and got caught at the combine and dropped to round 3. Quote:It's not all about stats. Cook is the better talent and it's not like he is a 1 year wonder. PS you can't away someone long run when he's been a threat to take it to the house at any point on the field for 3 years now. Quote:That's sad. It's just like I said, to many football fans, winning trumps morality. Rightly so. Sports aren't moral crusades. The best players don't win because of their morality. Some football fans put winning above EVERYTHING. Well, it sounds like you're the second coming of John Paul II since you're so morally superior. People make mistakes. That's part of life. Most fans don't care what these players do in their personal lives. I hope your kid(s) never make(s) a mistake. It sounds like they'll never live it down. Quote:Not to mention that he has no red flags for off the field issues. And lets be honest, that's why you don't like Cook. |
