I wonder how this will affect his draft stock.
I pray we don't draft him, this is Tebow level distraction times 1000, and if he doesn't pan out for w/e reason. Well, I think the term 'hick/backwards' town will be thrown against us by more than just him. Let him goto to the Giants or someone else who won't have to deal with the fallout. If I was Khan, I would tell my GM that he will not be drafted in any way shape or form.

Yes, it's improvement, but it's Blaine Gabbert 2012 level improvement. - Pirkster

Alcoholism is a disease. So what is being gay, a choice or a disease?

teams also arent gonna want the liability that releasing him can turn into some sort of discrimination type claim

Quote:Did he make history on the Jags message board and become the first openly gay Jungle message board poster?

There was an openly gay ( Lesbian ) poster on this MB for many years:  Minorcan.   I haven't seen her on the MB in a long time.  But she was a frequent poster about the Jaguars and non football topics.

Quote:I totally agree. The word "admits" sounds like he did something wrong by choosing to be gay.

There can't be a secret plan to get rid of Priefer. Michael Sam said he does not care what team drafts him. Because he is a defensive player Priefer will not be his coach. I don't even know if he is still at Minnesota because usually new head coaches hire their own assistants.
Most people on this board would say that statement is wrong. Personally I am okay with it. After all gay people are obviously supported by evolution, I mean isn't it to our human advantage to have members of species who refuse to procreate? Natural selection at its finest.

Still don't want him on the Jags.

, which is immense.
Agree, somebody thought everyone was worth dying on a cross for.

People who think being gay is a choice must also believe that being straight was a choice for them. That means at one point they were on the fence.

I don't know about you, but being straight wasn't something I chose I was just straight. No thought to it. I just like girls, plain and simple.

Probably, in the grand scheme and without an kind of value judgement, it's some type of genetic deviation from the norm or some type of alteration of development in Utero. I don't think it's a choice though it might not always be genetic but instead be the result of a gender identity crisis triggered by a destructive environment during childhood or adolescence.

Quote:Ricky Williams actually admitted he was gay when he was with Saints before he even played with Dolphins.

He did not and you know it.

It was more of rhetorical question for the poster I quoted.

Exactly my point. I'll be honest with you guys and it'll get me in a lot of trouble probably.

I think being homosexual is bad. BUT DO I HATE GAYS? No. I hope you all have seen my posts enough around here to recognize that I absolutely love people, regardless of what they do. Its a fundamental difference that people have a hard time understanding, but its important.

No flame, genuinely curious as to why anyone thinks its a bad thing.

Still don't want him on the Jags.

Then most people would misinterpret the statement. I don't believe being gay is a choice. And if it is not a choice, how can you say a gay man did something wrong?

It is like deaf culture. Nobody chooses to be deaf but members of the deaf community would choose to be deaf if given the option to be hearing. Gay/lesbian people don't choose to be that way, but they are proud of it despite the legal discrimination against them.

I don't want him on the Jaguars either.

I don't care as a fan but as a player I absolutely would be concerned.

@MrSensible I'd be happy to tell you over a PM, but I feel like I'd get instabanned if I explained it on here, haha.

What's bad is they feel a need to hide their sex preference out of fear. As we become more accepting, gays and lesbians will be treated much better and open up sooner.

Hey I live in Kansas City Kansas area. Maybe I should just drive over to missouri and ask Michael Sam myself lol

I think you would just get a warning unless you already had four of them.
