Here's a breakdown of the Jaguars safeties, according to the safety coach.

So you'd rather our coaches let Trevor hurl it deep 50 times a game and run Robinson 6 times like they "knew" in weeks one and two, or did fans know better than them? You'd rather the FS have zero chance of stopping a 1st down because he's 30 yards off the ball rather than backpedaling less so he might impact a pass play at some point this whole season? Or do fans know better because they want the FS to play his actual position? Go watch the FS on a good defense. He doesn't line up 20 yards off and backpedal to 30. He lines up 10-12 yards off and backpedals to 20 while diagnosing the play and reacting to the ball in time to influence a completion, not in time to clean up the mess when the ball has long been caught. This stuff is pretty basic. (10-22-2021, 04:35 AM)The Real Marty Wrote: Here's a breakdown of the Jaguars safeties, according to the safety coach. And then when you watch him as a player, he's sneaky good, man. He's all over the field and highly productive." I agree with the bolded part. On Cisco: Quote:"Cisco is a great young man, has worked his tail off, has really improved. I think he is in a great spot right now. He's really helping us on special teams. He's got a bright future. And you know, he's going to be the future of this defense as we move forward at some point," Ash said. Hopefully soon ^ (although it seems like they want him to be a SS unfortunately)

Hopefully Mrs. Wingard informs her hubby and the coaches that the fans are on to the fact that he plays 25 yards off of the line of scrimmage and backpedals 10 yards upon the snap, essentially placing him 35 yards off of the line of scrimmage on a 3rd and 12. SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Do not let the Rabble Rabble crowd know!
Wingard has consistently drawn praise from the Jaguars' coaching staff for his reliability and knowledge of the scheme, traits that have seen him skyrocket up the depth chart. Wingard won the starting job out of camp and after rotating with rookie safety Andre Cisco in the first two weeks has taken complete control of the role, playing 100% of the snaps in the last four weeks. "Well, one, he's a competitor. He competes every single day that he's out here. He's really become the quarterback of our defense," Ash said. "He knows the defense inside-out, he communicates at a very high level, he helps others get adjusted and lined up. And there's just tremendous value in that. And then when you watch him as a player, he's sneaky good, man. He's all over the field and highly productive." But But....he sucks and plays 50 yard from the LOS. Give me a break! Shows you how few on this board know what they are talking about. Pff praises wingard too. https://www.si.com/nfl/jaguars/news/jenk...s-safeties ![]() (10-24-2021, 03:02 PM)jaguarmvp Wrote: SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Do not let the Rabble Rabble crowd know! Wait.... you mean his coach didn't throw him under the bus?? Shocking! That article has already been shared and quoted here BTW. Wingard is a liability in coverage and the staff is stupid as hell to allow or instruct him to backpedal so deep he can't affect a first down. It's asinine. If he's not in single high or any sort of deep zone, he does fine for the most part. If that's enough to make you heap praise on the guy, go for it. I think we need a FS that can cover and he a'int it. (10-24-2021, 03:16 PM)NYC4jags Wrote:(10-24-2021, 03:02 PM)jaguarmvp Wrote: SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Do not let the Rabble Rabble crowd know! So now you are so desperate to say the coaches are lying? I don't see coaches going out there praising guys who do not deserve it. How many snaps a game he plays also prove his worth. You guys are pathetic and cannot admit you are wrong. Continue on your crying game!
Who do I trust more? A. The crybabies on the Duval pride message board who watch games on TV and pretend they know everything... or B. Coaches with years of experience with their careers and reputations on the line. I will take B Alex for $1000! ![]() (10-24-2021, 04:18 PM)jaguarmvp Wrote: So now you are so desperate to say the coaches are lying? Continue on your crying game! Bruh. You're pretty cavalier hurling all those stones from your glass house. Trevor still looking "HORRENDOUS?" You've plastered this board with dozens of whine-fests after losses over the years. Others are free to gripe should they choose.
When you look at the Jags defense, we have a lot of high-priced players like Roy Robertson-Harris, Rayshawn Jenkins, Myles Jack, etc. who simply aren't playmakers and aren't living up to their salaries. This is what happens when you whiff repeatedly on your draft picks - you end up overpaying for mediocre players.

Continue on your crying game! 1. At the time I wrote the Trevor post he was looking horrible. He was ranked like the 40th best QB at the time of the post. He has made huge strides since then and I for one and happy to see it. Just because he has improved now does not erase the fact he stunk earlier. 2. Your still crying like a little girl.
