I dont see the reason to trade him. Yes, we have a pro bowler in A Rob, yes, Hurns is very good, we have the punt returner in Green, but why not have Lee as well? He could work the slot and be the fly route guy, if he stays healthy, he has the most talent of the group. Why not have A Rob, Hurns, Lee, Walters and Green? You know injuries happen all the time, no sense in trading good depth away when the NFL is very unpredictable league. 

 

I think with this talent, and what we actually could get in a trade with a team, I am not sure I take the risk. One mans trash is another mans treasure, he could easily go to New England and look like a super star. I think the best thing the Jags can do is wait it out with Lee. Your not getting anything more than a day 3 draft pick, and a low one at that, he's got loads of talent but his injury history has hindered his career. I see a lot of potential with Lee, I dont think I make a trade. I think with a solid camp, him and Walters duke it out for the 3rd WR position. Of course rotation occurs and all of them will play and compete, but thats what is separating the Jags from others, I think top to bottom, we have one of the strongest WR corps in the league.

Well, the original point was that he might be trade bait for a defensive players, which of course, is more of a pressing need. I think all options will be looked at to bolster the defense, it probably won't be this route, but it's worthy of consideration.

He has yet to be a 100% healthy can you imagine how great he might be if he could remain healthy all year.


That being said I guess it would depend on the offer.  If a team was willing to give up a 1st round pick (due to his healthy risk) I would say they would have to consider it.

However if they only offered like a 5th or later I would rather they keep him.

The odds of getting a 1st round pick for Lee are as good as winning PowerBall.  He wasn't worth a 1st rounder coming out of college, why would any team think he's worth more now that he's proven he can't stay healthy? 

 

He's not worth trading; his best value is to keep him as competition for the slot WR role.

In the NFL, The wise GM's would rather be the guy who sticks with their draft pick one year too much rather than the guy who cuts bait only to see the next GM work magic with the guy (EX: Reggie Nelson). If we see nothing from Lee in year 3, Then its time once you draft another jar on the shelf.

If I'm not mistaken I think Bill Belichick does the opposite and gets rid of em a year early. I like his approach from the results.

Bellicheck is also known for gambling on character concerns and aging veterans. His ability to let players go and bring in potential risks all stems from having arguably the greatest football player of all time in Tom Brady. When your a perennial contender with 4 super bowl rings, it's easy to take low risk high reward players, or simply not resign sole players that may cost more than what he wants to pay for them. Something Bellicheck is a master of is adapting to his surroundings. Something a lot of coaches don't do. Bradley is a prime example of this, not adapting or adjusting the defense when a clear lack of talent to run the scheme was in display.


Bellechick can take these risks and if they work out, then they milk them till they ar dry, if they don't work out, they simply let them go. Having Brady is the ultimate back bone and their ability to adjust to their surroundings makes them such a great team. Back during the undefeated run, they threw the deep ball with Moss, then they had the two TE system with Gronk and Hernandez and now the short throws with the smaller WR.
