Pros and Cons of firing Gus Bradley

Quote:Mularkey is available. So you don't have faith in Khan + Caldwell choosing a replacement?
I was wrong about Trent Baalke.
Quote:Just give him time, they say. I don't recall seeing anyone say give him year 4. The consensus has been that this is a make or break year for Bradley. Nothing about that has changed after one loss. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Quote:So you don't have faith in Khan + Caldwell choosing a replacement? Didn't they choose the guy the majority of this board is ready to run out of town?

Quote:So you don't have faith in Khan + Caldwell choosing a replacement? It would be hard for them to find one. No proven coach would want to come here. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:Yeah, and that's really going to create the kind of environment where a replacement is going to be eager to step in knowing that the owner has a hair trigger, right? Because a prospective coach would think that Gus wasn't given a fair chance after being fired with (say) an 8-31 record? "Why should I give information to you when all you want to do is find something wrong with it?" Quote:Because a prospective coach would think that Gus wasn't given a fair chance after being fired with (say) an 8-31 record?4 coaches in 5 years. You'll get the bottom feeders who are trying to get any kind opportunity. Quality coaches? Not so much. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Lets be honest, no coach that has a great standing ground will come,we can get an up and comer but an established guy would choose a better situation before this

Quote:You don't know any of that so let's maybe add an "IMO" to your statement.Right. We haven't already seen this with recent coaching hires. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Quote:Money talks.Tell that to Randall Cobb (I know its not a coach, but still an example of someone taking less money for a better situation)

Quote:4 coaches in 5 years. You'll get the bottom feeders who are trying to get any kind opportunity. Quality coaches? Not so much. Spin. This would be Khan's third head coaching hire, and only Caldwell's second, well after giving the first a reasonable chance. Tucker was never more than an interim coach. Marrone would probably fail after taking over in midseason, but maybe he would do a great job. We can't know if we don't try. We know what we have with Bradley. And it appears that age has finally overtaken Sullivan. "Why should I give information to you when all you want to do is find something wrong with it?" We kept coughlin and JDR for something like 15 years and were the epitome of a patient organization. Look what that got us.

Quote:Spin. This would be Khan's third head coaching hire, and only Caldwell's second, well after giving the first a reasonable chance.I'm not counting Tucker. The owner was in place for the end of Del Rio, hired Mularkey and Bradley, and would be moving on to head coach #4. You can dismiss that all you wish, but it will have an impact in what happens with the next hire if they move on from Bradley. It's idiotic to suggest firing a coach mid-season hoping you might see something different from another guy. Change for the sake of changing is just not a plan that leads to success. Ask Washington. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
