Anyone paying attention to the Bengals dip in performance this year?

Here's a number to consider.

Bengals pass protection win rate = 47%
Jaguars pass protection win rate = 50%

Jags protection win rate is fifth worst in the league
Bengals are third worst

Each QB has 6 INTs
(Burrow has more TDs and yards, but also better receivers)

Not sure why so many are willing to look past the pressures being allowed from LT.LG and C so easily.
It's as much of a problem as Trevor's recent dip in accuracy/consistency and a contributing factor to it.

Yeah, and didn't they spend like crazy to improve the OL?

Kind like we spent like crazy to improve the WR.

It's all educated guesswork. I wonder how miserable their fanbase is right now, esp following the high of a SB run last season.

They paid well for a RG and that is working out well.

They paid Cam Robinson and that isn't working out so well. He's good on the run plays, but bad in protection too frequently. 
He's probably here one more year due to his contract though. *sigh*

They need a real LG next year in a bad way and they have to find out if Fortner is going to grow into his shoes or not. 
Not good enough from him yet.

MJJ is an over the hill, 50 catch a year guy and we all know it. He's also exactly on pace to be at his career averages for catches, yards and TDs this season.
Zay had 2.5 catches per game for the first 86 games now he's got 4.8 pg with Lawrence
Kirk is averaging the same number of catches per game with 2 more yards per catch on average.

If anything TLaw and Pederson have made these three guys better than they've been.

Well, looks like the "Flat Earth/Lawrence Is Improving" gang is back out in force. My Lord, you guys deserve this train wreck and I hope it continues for at least a couple more seasons just so you get everything you deserve. I've never seen such commitment to a belief despite overwhelming empirical evidence to the opposite conclusion.

The reality that you are denying is that Trevor is a very nice kid who looks more and more like a true life Shleprock. He's the guy who trips on the way to the mic at commencement, who gets the Time Zones confused and is late for the big interview by an hour, and lets out a nasty fart at dinner with his girlfriend's parents. He's just a natural born loser. And don't dream of comparing him to the guy we dumped to draft him. Not only are the stats wildly disproportionate, but anybody with a brain firing on at least one cylinder can see the personality difference. Minshew would steal Trevor's girl, defend him from bullies in the hallway, give him noogies after Science lab and still have Lawrence following him around asking to play Dungeons and Dragons. Lawrence has the competitive drive and charisma of the wax liner inside a cereal box.

But keep on believing, guys. He's Josh Allen any day now, a Superstar right after the next three or four game ending interceptions. Just be patient and keep on denying what actually happens on the field. I mean, how could all the talent evaluators and experts be wrong?

You would have given up on Peyton Manning too probably. The empirical evidence actually is that he is playing well *most* of the time. His critical issues are his accuracy over 30 yards or so and his decision making. There's no guarantee he can improve those, it will be challenging. Bortles never could but giving up this early on a young, number 1 draft pick with this much raw talent is crazy. Maybe he'll be Bortles 2.0 but it's a better chance he'll be Josh Allen 2.0.

The had one of the best defenses in the league and one of the best olines as well. But yeah you don't have to have an elite WR to win if you have a good QB

I am A fellow Jaguar fan and wanted Lawrence to live up to the hype.  The simple fact is there is nothing special about him outside of his arm strength.  Lawrence is proving every week that he is not he answer at QB for any NFL Team.  It's a crap sandwich but it is time to face reality that Lawrence is not the QB for the Jaguars Future.  This team is good enough to win now but the QB is killing this team.  He fails at doing basic fundamental task as a QB  Just a few observations. 

-Beyond inconsistent:  This guy flips not only from game to game but drive to drive.  Just terrible.

-Can't make the easy throws:  This offense has receivers open but the QB either misses them, throws it 3,000mph, or just flat out does not see open receivers on a regular basis.  Alarming

-Stupid mistakes:  Too many times he gets a stupid turnover from making a dumb decision.  Just terrible.

-Nothing Generational about his talent. His arm is above average but that washes out with his terrible accuracy

-No touch on the ball. Many of the receiver drops are from him shooting rifle shots at receivers. He rarely ever throws soft passes

-He alone is costing us Football games. With an average QB we are atleast .500 maybe even well above that.  His inaccurate stupid decisions are killing this team.

-He is a bottom tier QB.  I honestly would take Geno Smith over Lawrence right now.

This team is good enough to win right now but the QB is shooting this team in the foot.  It is time to face reality that he stinks.  I believe whats good for this team is to bench him and let the backup QB that can atleast make the easy throws on a consistent basis.  Lawrence is just another long line of #1 picks that were overhyped and sucked.   Atleast 3 of our losses falls squarely on his shoulders alone.  He is a bum!
