Corey Grant

Quote:I don't see it that way at all. You want the best player at every position, and that includes PR and KR. If you have a guy like Grant proving he's the best KR, then you keep him. That said, Grant's speed allows the team to use him at various positions including special plays on offense and possibly at gunner.

I disagree. Especially at KR. I think the position is devalued in today's game with the huge percentage of touchbacks.

What Rico said. Grant is going to have to prove that he can be several things, including the fourth RB and KR, to have a chance at making the team. Just being the best kickoff returner isn't enough to win a job anymore.

Hopefully Grant will be given the chance to prove himself in PreSeason, and I think if given the opportunites he will succeed.

For the gamers out there, Corey Grant is tied for the 3rd fastest player in the new Madden, at speed 96

That's awesome I assume in Madden 16 right, or do they have him in Madden 15 ?

Considering that he was in college when Madden 15 came out...

True but Madden does updates, and on my Madden 15 I have Cann & TJ Yeldon for example.

I hope Grant does well tonight, I'm definitely rooting for the kid. The last thing he wants to do is lose the rock.

Grant was impressive. I'm convinced he just took Storm's place on the roster.

Yeldon

D Rob

I'd say Yeldon, DRob, Gerhard and Grant made the roster... and then maybe Pierce if there's room for him.

Hopefully we keep those five considering that we won't carry a FB - but perhaps they keep the extra TE instead.

I'd be fine with your four mentioned and letting Pierce walk.

I think Grant showed some promise yesterday. Still waiting to see him bust out a big play. I liken him to be a little similar to Dri Archer. He showed some speed, and a little wiggle.

He did have a nice long run that called back bc of a hold

That run sold me on him despite the hold and despite it occuring late in the fourth quarter. He's just so fast and looked real good on his KR. I really have no doubt at this point that he'll make it barring something crazy bad like a string of fumbles. That said, it would be nice to see him at RB earlier in the game.

I dunno I am still not sold on Slowby, I need to see more positive from him during preseason... last year was so horrible to watch.

He was hurt. All you need to watch is the tackle by Fletcher Cox in the philly game to see that.

I am really liking the backfield of Yeldon*, Gerhart, Denard, Pierce, and Grant. Yeldon being the unknown and hurt atm.

Toby did push back a few people against the steelers & towards the end of last season so a FB role makes the most sense (since he blocked for AP for years).

I am hoping to see more action from Grant this Saturday night against the Giants!

Running back Corey Grant carried twice for 6 yards, caught a 15-yard pass and returned two kickoffs for 42 yards for the Jauars.
