Caldwell done?

Caldwell hit on 1 out of his 6 first round picks.  1 of his 7 2nd round picks.  Cam, Chark, and Bryan still a ?

Caldwell implied the Gus Bus was a joint decision between he and Tony and Shad. He also reiterated Shad's intent to "see it through" with Gus.

I really wish they'd have parted ways with him one year sooner, but it's pretty clear Caldwell didn't have autonomy in that decision.
If this coaching staff doesn't get this fantastic defensive roster (that Dave assembled) performing up to their abilities in the next 2 or 3 weeks, then you could consider beginning a discussion on coaching staff decisions and Caldwell's involvement there.

Every team's fan base picks apart draft picks in hindsight. Can't let yourself go too far down that rabbit hole. He's made some good ones, made some bad ones, just like most GMs.

The rest is herp derp IMO.

It's funny this has to be re-hashed any time the team hits a rough stretch. (happened around this time last year too)
Some of you guys handle losses like AJ Green handles trash talk.
Not well.

You call the last few games just "losses"  I would call them beat downs

Call them whatever you want. They all end up as a W or an L on the only record that matters.

One could say Cam and this years draft picks are still up in the air.  He has had some good FA pick ups but has held on to Bortles who has been average at best but has looked like a bottom 7 or 8 QB since he has been drafted.  Held on to Gus a year or 2 to long.  He is the guy we want at GM?
I love the way every loss means we need to have a referendum about the future of everybody in the organisation.

Naw, when it's a hard fought game and we are competing and keeping games close is different then just getting beat down in back to back weeks and shut out in back to back games in the first half.

You might not see a difference but I know Tom does and I think Doug is seeing this as well from what he said in his press conference

Caldwell assembles a roster that puts 6 players in the Pro Bowl so he should be fired asap. #junglelogic

You are just missing my point. I see the difference between ugly losses and close ones. They just don't make me lose my mind and want to fire multiple members of the staff and front office every time they happen. And how you lose or win doesn't matter when they count up W's and L's at playoff time.

Ramsey, Jack, Yan, Cam, Linder, Telvin, Bouye, Campbell, Dareus, Gipson, Westbrook, Cole, Malik..... He also drafted ARob and Colvin. Caldwell is not the issue here and never really has been. He has brought in plenty of talent to this team but the QB is clearly holding them back.

Guess the Pats should fire Belicheck. His draft history is god awful.

Dorsey did that for the chiefs and they fired Dorsey.  Look at the Chiefs now.

I agree that he was demoted the minute Tom Coughlin was hired but now he should just be off the team.  The guy is trash.

How do you have 4 top 5 picks and an open checkbook and build the trash we saw tonight?

Caldwell has made some great moves (Jack, Yannick, free agents Campbell, Bouye, Jackson, etc) and some terrible moves (Bortles, Gus Bradley, etc), but after yesterday's games I would say his absolutely worst move was taking Fournette over Mahomes in the 2017 draft. How would this team's future look with Mahomes as the quarterback? Fournette played very well last year, but it sure looks like his history of injuries will never allow us to count on him. On the other hand, franchise quarterbacks like Mahomes do not come around very often and Caldwell really blew it by passing on him.

Doesn’t Coughlin still run the show? Did I miss something?

When we win he does and when we lose it's on Caldwell.

Yeah, all those division, conference, and Superb Owl wins are just overwhelming.

The vast majority of the football world had Mahomes as a "project pick" going mid to late first round to a team that could afford to sit him.

While I openly questioned the Fournette pick and liked Mahomes over the other QBs in that class, I would have thought he'd be there in a trade down in the teens.
He wasn't.

Might look smarter to compliment the chefs for being hip to the pick -  rather than calling out Caldwell and virtually every other QB needy GM for missing that one. Not many saw that coming.

#1 - It's too bad about Fragile Fred Lame Leonard and how his career is over already.

#2 - I'm so impressed with RG3 Pat Mahomes we should just put him in the Hall right now.

If we did draft Mahomes he would be nowhere near the QB he is with the Chiefs. Their oline is better and they are loaded with offensive weapons. Not to mention he has Andy Reid

Definitely some truth there. BUT, in the end, Mahomes throws accurate lasers, Bortles throws inaccurate ducks more than not. That isn’t going to change.

I understand the point you're trying to make but RG3 and Mahomes couldn't be more different.

The last two games have exposed the Jaguars. They've been figured out. All I ask is to be competitive and show effort. I have not seen much of either of these in the last four games.
Can anyone make an in-game adjustment? Yesterday it was clear that zone coverage wasnt working, yet they never adjusted. Wash, Hackett, Marrone, all the coaches failed.
Yesterday looked like 2016. One plus, I was able to cut my lawn during the second half.
