In your opinion the #1 need on the team?

Get an elite offense with numerous speed guys and then have pass rushers and corners. Grabbing 2 linebackers in a draft with 3 of your first 4 picks is bad. The Jags have 1 very good corner (Campbell) and another good corner (Williams). They have good pass rushers potentially in Walker, Allen, and Smoot. What this team doesn’t have (and Ridley is still unknown) are players to stretch the field and win 50/50 balls on the outside. It’s all a difference in philosophy but I think this team needs juice on offense. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Is Pickens a great offensive talent? Is he preferred over Devin Lloyd? Is he preferred with us bringing in Zay, Kirk, Engram, and now Ridley? I’m all for brining in elite offensive talent. But football is the ultimate team game. We obviously weren’t going to fix all of this in 1 off season. I think you will see an offensive minded draft at the top for us next year. And I think with the big picture in mind - this was the correct way to do it.

He was my number 1 target for the top of round 2 before the Jags traded up. He is continually winning his 1 on 1 matchup but he plays with QBs who don’t play to his strengths.

After QB this year, defense will once again be taken over any other position. If we want to look at the whole draft, more CBs were taken than any other position, 2nd? LBYour “it’s go s to show its more important than ever” statement makes no sense. Williams has been a disappointment tbh. Have you watched us play this year? Our WR group is better than our CB and pass rush. I agree 100% that we need more juice on offense but I dont think we need it more than CB and pass rush. Ridley is more of a sure think than any rookie regardless. Ill make a sig bet with you right now that Ridley out performs any rookie WR we draft. We really could upgrade almost all positions. QB, RB, LB, and P are the only starting positions I dont think we could upgrade in the upcoming draft. Trevor is starting to show he is the man we thought he was. If he continues to improve the rest of the season the best chance we have at success next year is to help this defense. Bradys early years in NE. They won with a great defense, ST, and Tom Brady. I think we need to copy the Pats dynasty where they won 3 in 4 years. They one thing we have that they dont is an elite RB outside of the year they had Dillon. Way to go out on a limb there, GnJ. Unless it's a top 10 WR pick, Zay Jones should outperform any rookie WR draft pick, and even then it's about a 50/50 shot that the rook outperforms Zay. Ridley really needs to outperform every receiver on the roster for me to feel satisfied at that position. Or at least put up numbers comparable to Kirk et al. Shadrick is in Columbus calling play by play for the Ohio State vs Michigan game for Westwood One radio and is doing a good job of it. Get rid of Frangie. Oh, Jesus Christ, yes. Frangie is so bad. For example, he takes way too long to tell you the result of a play. The first thing out of his mouth should be the yard line where the ball wound up. But that's the last thing he says. It's ridiculously frustrating to listen to him for that reason. What yard line did they reach? Did they get the first down or not? It makes me so mad the way he goes on and on describing the play without telling us the most important thing- how many yards did the play achieve?

So not only did we take less value in the 27 spot, we also compounded that by giving away other picks to do so. With our 4th the Bucs took Cade Otton at Tight End and he's got 26 catches already this year. Our 6th went to the Bills who took Matt Azaria, that didn't work out so well, but Tampa sent that pick along with their 2nd to take Luke Goedeke the OT from Central Michigan. So in effect we traded a #1 WR, an offensive lineman, and a tight end for Devin Lloyd. Man that sucks. Heck, Pickens went at 52, we could've moved down and gotten him an probably added at least another 2 next year. While I like Lloyd we sure did screw the value tree on him. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato

He's only catching 63% of targets. He's made a few splash plays that have people fooled but he's got a massive way to go before I'm even considering him a #2 wr

Sorry, fellas, I love ya, but I'm not on board with WR early. I like Ridley, Kirk and Zay - I'd keep Agnew in the mix and draft a mid round receiver if value presents itself.

By the time he plays in his first game, it will have been almost 700 days since his last snap. I do think he will be productive but he's far from a sure thing. I'm not drafting WR just to draft one but if Quentin Johnson is there in round 1, I'm 100000% taking him. The Jags don't have a 50/50 ball winner or someone who you can just toss it up to in the end zone. Johnston is that. If they go CB in round 1, I hope WR is a target in round 2 but in all likely hood, they'll draft 2 linebackers with their first 2 picks..... We show less advertisements to registered users.
