In 2020, 9/15 were offense.
2021, 12/15 were offense.
2022, 8/15 were offense.

29/45 which would be 65%. 65% of the first half of the draft has been offense the last 3 years.

That’s a trend if I’ve ever seen one. And yet the Jags went pass rusher and 2 linebackers with their first 3 picks. Going the wrong way.

It makes zero sense that the first 5 picks were defense?   After QB this year, defense will once again be taken over any other position.  If we want to look at the whole draft, more CBs were taken than any other position, 2nd? LB

What this team doesn’t have (and Ridley is still unknown) are players to stretch the field and win 50/50 balls on the outside.

It’s all a difference in philosophy but I think this team needs juice on offense.

I would take Pickens over Lloyd in a heart beat. He was my number 1 target for the top of round 2 before the Jags traded up.

He is continually winning his 1 on 1 matchup but he plays with QBs who don’t play to his strengths.

Williams has been a disappointment tbh. Have you watched us play this year?  Our WR group is better than our CB and pass rush.  I agree 100% that we need more juice on offense but I dont think we need it more than CB and pass rush.  Ridley is more of a sure think than any rookie regardless.  Ill make a sig bet with you right now that Ridley out performs any rookie WR we draft.  We really could upgrade almost all positions.  QB, RB, LB, and P are the only starting positions I dont think we could upgrade in the upcoming draft.  Trevor is starting to show he is the man we thought he was.  If he continues to improve the rest of the season the best chance we have at success next year is to help this defense.  Bradys early years in NE.  They won with a great defense, ST, and Tom Brady.  I think we need to copy the Pats dynasty where they won 3 in 4 years. My man!  Way to go out on a limb there, GnJ.  Unless it's a top 10 WR pick, Zay Jones should outperform any rookie WR draft pick, and even then it's about a 50/50 shot that the rook outperforms Zay.  Ridley really needs to outperform every receiver on the roster for me to feel satisfied at that position.  Or at least put up numbers comparable to Kirk et al.

Oh, Jesus Christ, yes.  Frangie is so bad.  For example, he takes way too long to tell you the result of a play.  The first thing out of his mouth should be the yard line where the ball wound up.  But that's the last thing he says.  It's ridiculously frustrating to listen to him for that reason.  What yard line did they reach?  Did they get the first down or not?  It makes me so mad the way he goes on and on describing the play without telling us the most important thing- how many yards did the play achieve?

I totally agree with all that.  WR is the least of our needs.  And as for the people who say "CB2" I would say, "CB1."  We could really use a dominant #1 CB.

I do think he will be productive but he's far from a sure thing. I'm not drafting WR just to draft one but if Quentin Johnson is there in round 1, I'm 100000% taking him. The Jags don't have a 50/50 ball winner or someone who you can just toss it up to in the end zone. Johnston is that. If they go CB in round 1, I hope WR is a target in round 2 but in all likely hood, they'll draft 2 linebackers with their first 2 picks.....

Addison and Ridley are a lot a like. Elite route runners who create separation with ease. Addison has a chance to be like Diggs I think.

Depending on who else is there in round 1 when the Jags pick, I could definitely see myself adding him and just saying eff it. We are going to destroy man coverage for 10+ years.

Thats my top 3 needs as well.  If we dont resign Engram id put TE in with that mix.  I think you can rank them in anyway. All are massive needs.  With that said if we have a WR at the top of our board when we pick id still take him but def. not at the top of our needs.
