Who won't renew tix?

Quote:Every business competes against others every day to earn or keep your business. A funny thing I see is that Tampa Bay offers discounts to their season ticket holders for food and merchandise compared to single game pass holders. What do we get?? Oh 10% to re-up your season tickets to see the new lipstick color on the pig. Before you say what a great deal we have with the "teal deals" they do me a lot of good down in Orlando.Yes, but not in the way NFL teams do. McDonald's serves "billions," Ruth's Chris does not. Which is the better restaurant? How can you tell? Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!

Quote:Yes, but not in the way NFL teams do. Depends what your definition of better is based off of. Taste or profits.
Quote:While I do not begrudge you your ability to choose to not renew, your closing statement is problematic. While I see what you are trying to say, there are flaws in your logic Based on the posters points, I would assume he has bought one nice shirt at the BEST department store at some point in the past 10 years. He is saying he has been a ST holder for 10 years, and outside of 2007, it has been a dismal investment in his entertainment dollar. I would also assume the OP has dined at Ruth Chris or an equivalent steak house in the past decade as well. What he is saying, and correct me if I am wrong OP, you haven't metaphorically been served Ruth's Chris while wearing wearing a shirt from Nordstrom ONCE in the past 10 years when it comes to your investment in Jaguar season tickets? So, what's been established in this entire discussion is that a handful of people don't plan on renewing their tickets so they can really show the team how unhappy they are that they didn't get what they wanted from the experience in the way of wins. That's fine. That's certainly your prerogative.
The overwhelming majority recognize there are no guarantees, and that regardless of whether the home team is winning or losing, it's still the NFL, and it's still a privilege for this city to be awarded an NFL franchise. You can thank those of us who have stuck it out through the lean years because otherwise there won't be a franchise bandwagon here in Jacksonville to jump on to when you decide they're playing up to your expectations. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

For those not renewing. Don't be coming here talking about how empty the stadium looks on TV. Seems to have been a small trend of that this past year. Fools actually bragging about their comfort level while watching from their couch just down the road. Also don't be crying like little [BAD WORD REMOVED] when Mr. Khan gets tired of seeing those empty seats and packs bags. He has invested a huge amount of personal money on this team and city and as any human would will expect to see some payback in the form of season ticket sales. After all this city has been claiming to be a hell of a football city, attendance has not been proving that to be true. Don't think for a second that Khan will be as patient as Weaver was with poor attendance. There is a city or two that will love to have the team. He will wipe his rear end with that lease if he feels like it.
It probably won't be a problem because when they start winning these cotton ball soft, fair weathered fools will again attend. They will mingle with the rest of us as if they were there all along but a few well placed questions will expose them for the poor "Fans " that they are. Call yourself what you will but do it knowing that someone else who actually supports the team makes it possible for you to watch from home The Jacksonville Jaguars. I have two of you chumps that are not renewing covered as I will be adding two to my group. You're not welcome.

Quote:For what it's worth, the stadium still looks empty on TV even when it's not.Meh, the Jags have only been averaging about 42000 general bowl tickets on a season ticket basis. The emptiness is what makes it look empty. I'm just saying, if those numbers do not improve or go down. The team nor league will allow it to continue.

IMO, the next few years will determine the teams sustainability in Jacksonville for the foreseeable future. The kids who were born when the team got here are 20, 21 years and likely entering the real world. It will be interesting to see what "Generation Jaguar" chooses to do with their income, or if the quality of this franchise has mentally scared these young kids to a point of no return.
Quote:Most of the people not in their seats are in the Bud Zone. Yep, I know, or most of the East club ticket holders are inside. I was implying that no matter how good the attendance is, the stadium always looks empty on TV.
To people who are not renewing if you are in the SEZ 120'S sections please let me know.
Im looking to move closer to the field.

Quote:While I see what you are trying to say, there are flaws in your logicIf he was a STH in the past 10 years, that included 2007, which means he DID have the equivalent of Ruth's Chris/Nordstrom within that time frame. But nobody wants to go 10+ years without winning. My point is that the very nature of the NFL business makes it far more likely that he will have an unpleasant experience than the nature of every other business. If he were to go to Ruth's Chris, there's not a group of McDonald's employees there trying to ruin your dining experience. They aren't turning up the grills trying to burn the steaks, or tripping the wait staff so they drop your food on the floor, or otherwise delay the delivery of your meal. Were he to venture to Nordstrom's, he wouldn't likely encounter Wal Mart employees occupying sales staff so that you could not be timely helped. Sears employees likely wouldn't be in the stores defacing the clothing merchandise to increase the likelihood of you buying a substandard product from there. But we go to an NFL game wanting the passing game to work efficiently, but there is a competing company on the field at the same time working to ensure it doesn't. We go to an NFL game wanting the defense to be dominant, while the competing company has people working to pick that defense apart. Furthermore, it is far easier for businesses like McDonald's & Ruth's Chris, Nordstrom's and the like to meet their personnel requirements to be the best than it is for NFL teams. There are only 32 NFL teams, and there are a small handful of people on the planet who can play at a level that can make an NFL football team, and it is harder still to accumulate the right amount of players to be better than the other 31 teams. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!

The Business community here in Jax is on a real upswing with the majority of new jobs coming are in the IT and Financial services industry, so disposable income will not be a issue. Lets be truthfully honest, the reason why Khan invested in Jax is because he saw the job market here improving, if he didn't this team's future would have been in doubt.

There's a recession about 6 months away that's going to end most of that "disposable income" idea. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato
Quote:Most of the people not in their seats are in the Bud Zone. The capacity of the bar is only 800. Add in the area out front maybe another 4-5 hundred would be my guess. http://www.homefieldevents.com/bud-zone.html. Not enough general bowl season tickets being sold. It must increase. I could be way off here but I don't think so. We will have more info on this after the State of the Jaguars presser/function.
