Sugar Bowl: Alabama vs Oklahoma

Quote:You could have said the same watching Manziel against UF 2012, Ole Miss 2012, or LSU 12/13. AJ shouldn't be judged solely on this game.
What about Shaw circa yesterday vs Wisconsin?

Pass batted at the line. The Henne comparison lives on.

Does anybody else despise the college rule of being down as soon as you touch the ground regardless of being touched or not? It can't be just me.

Agreed but his stat line was insane. Would be a best game for a lot of QBs.

Stat lines are NOT how we scout QBs, guys. Come on now.

Yea but he threw for 1 and ran for another. He may have been off but no QB is perfect. But I'd have to rewatch the game and see if drops were a factor or if he was just having a bad day.

I agree to an extent, but you wouldn't draft a QB who consistently completed less than 50%.

Does anyone else kinda feel like what Manzeil did against Alabama isn't as impressive considering what Oklahoma is doing?

Depends. If we're going by theoretical scenarios, if he was dropping balls in perfectly, had 4.3 speed, and had 'it', but his receivers had stubs for arms and couldn't catch, I'd still take the guy.

We both know that would never be the case.

Right. Theoretical scenarios are just as invalid as statistical evaluations.

Wow. Derrick Henry is still a beast. I wondered how he'd do against higher level competition.
10 years ago we had Bob Hope, Johnny Cash, and Steve Jobs..... Please don't die, Kevin Bacon.

Lol it's good to see I've been rubbing off on you!

KY I have been advocating non-stat evaluation since I started writing my stuff... But I will admit you have helped me stay level-headed throughout this process, and for that I thank you.
