Brandon Albert Returns

I can't imagine he steps foot on the field again for the Jaguars. He wasn't any good when he was out there at the start of camp, he's going to be even worse now. He doesn't want to play, he won't rework a deal, this is all about a money grab and good for him.

He came back because he realized that he could still get paid and take a vacation at the same time.
"I want to retire"
"OK, I think you owe us 3.4 milly" ..... .... "I want to un-retire" Seems legit. (08-08-2017, 09:59 AM)UCF Knight Wrote: I can't imagine he steps foot on the field again for the Jaguars. But since the team is on the hook now for the 3.4 mil, I'd work his lard butt into the ground between now and final cuts. And then, if he was good enough to make the roster, I'd deactivate him every week unless he won a starting job. The chump needs to be made an example for the lazy and disloyal. ![]() Fix the O-Line!
Why bring him into camp, let him get hurt, and then be on the hook for anything? Give him the money and let him go on his merry way.

Trade him to the coldest city. We can probably get a player swap at LT. Maybe not a starter but a LT or LG that is serviceable.

Jaguars placing LT Branden Albert on the reserve/retired list, so he's done in Jax Ian RapoportVerified account @RapSheet 24m24 minutes ago The #Jaguars be placing LT Branden Albert on the reserve/retired list. He was previously on the "left team" list. Ian RapoportVerified account @RapSheet 19m19 minutes ago What does this mean for LT Branden Albert? If he really wants to play, he can easily do it but only for the #Jaguars. They keep his rights (08-08-2017, 09:18 AM)FBT Wrote:(08-07-2017, 10:20 PM)knarnn Wrote: Hugh Douglas 2.0. Don't fall for it Tom! Well that sounds good in theory but I'm truly on the fence on this one. This guy has shown us his true colors from the moment OTA's began. I'm not all that confident that if he's allowed to come back that he doesn't "pull a hamstring" in hopes of not having to play and getting cut or traded all the while collecting the money he un-retired for. Either way he avoids the field and gets his way. The only way I would allow him back is a real commitment to the team by restructuring his contract so the Jags can protect themselves. But we all know he won't agree to that.

More Replying to @Tdickman89 On Monday, August 7, team officials met with Albert and mutually agreed that the club would place him on the team’s reserve/retired list.

Jaguars place Branden Albert on reserve/retired list
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000...tired-list Branden Albert informed the Jacksonville Jaguars he wants to return to football after announcing last week he was retiring. But do the Jaguars want to bring him back?

It's funny people on twitter acting like Albert "played" the Jaguars. He was obviously done. Same result.

I wouldn't want him back. He obviously lacks a commitment to the game at this point in his career.

More Things I Thought I'd Never Tweet: I'd rather discuss Justin Blackmon than Branden Albert. haha

I bet they just leave Albert on the reserve/retired list until someone along the line (or back up lineman) is injured. Then they'll have a roster spot for him and can attempt to whip him into shape - see if he can contribute.
