Thrilled to have him. I didn't want to get my hopes up, but he acquitted himself quite well, considering the lack of snaps taken in the preseason...though I don't know if that's as important for a RB as it would be a QB, honestly.

He had a few moments that made me drift back to my fondest memories of watching Pocket Hercules wreck somebody. It was great to see it again. I think it's safe to say Fournette won't always hit 100 yards every week; some weeks the team's going to have to rely on a stronger passing game. But just the threat of a powerful runner like this guy definitely gives the offense an edge they haven't quite had since MoJo left.

And yes, I'm aware Taylor was considered greater for many reasons, but I'm just saying MoJo was THE last great RB this team had after Taylor..

That is why he is the quarterbacks best friends and why he makes play action so much more effective. Do you think that DB that he ran over earlier in the game was cheating for the run?

Respect the game.  Play with a sense of urgency. 


1.)  Take care of the ball.  Win the turnover battle.

2.)  It's all about 3rd down.  Win on 3rd down to win the game.

3.) Playmakers make plays.  The only reason that you put your uniform on is to make plays. In order to EARN your paycheck, you must make plays.  

Learn from the great collapse of 2023.  

I would like to add that bringing the fullback back was one of the best decisions this organization has made. If you rewatch the game, pay close attention to #40 wipe defenders out.
I watch him ball out and thought he would come back with a concussion after some of the licks he was laying on the texans.

He looks solid. It seems like has a high center of grabity which MIGHT cause him to not break one loose after making contact. I saw a lot of plays where he took on contact and ended up falling down afterwards. He did have a solid game 1 though.

What could he do if our passing game was effective enough to command balanced respect to pass and rush (i.e. not 8 men in the box)?

Unfortunately this was the same question we asked ourselves over and over again when he played for LSU.  Luckily he's a freak athlete and talented enough to still be productive like he was yesterday.  Just hope he can stay healthy with as many touches as he's going to be getting this season against stacked boxes.

If there is one thing Fournette is used to from his days at LSU, it is running against 8 man fronts.  If Blake can open things up, he will be that much more effective.

I tried to figure out the knock on his pass catching.  He was great at LSU, they just rarely threw to him.

I was actually getting peeved they used Ivory as much as they did.
Then I remembered LF had a little ankle thing so they were probably tryin to not over work him right away...

And then Ivory ripped a couple impressive runs and I quit [BLEEP] lol

I thought it was a smart way to keep Fournette fresh to finish strong and Ivory ran for an impressive 4.7 yards per carry. 

He had one lackluster series during which he missed a chance to bounce outside for a big gain but cutback instead. Besides that he was great in the spell-back role.

He's going to be really fun to watch and I hope he lays out Cyp this coming week.

Multiple times he got neg yards.

4net would be a very good back for a team with a good QB. He won't lose yards and will keep 2nd and 3rd downs at manageable yardage ...

But he isn't doing much other than that with his 3.8 ypc. As soon as the jags fall behind, he will be useless. And he won't be good enough on his own to carry an offense.

And with bortles at qb, you're basically relying on 3.8 ypc to win games ... better hope that D keeps all other teams to under 14 points

Yeah I wasn't trying to hate on Ivory. Just thought they should keep feeding 'the beast'. But like you said... Ivory was doing his job well.

You got proof of this or you just throwin [BLEEP] at a wall hoping something sticks?
I read he got 2.6 yds after contact... which would seemingly say the opposite of your claim.
