This loss is on Fournette.

Love him or hate him - Gabbert has improved since being cut in Jacksonville. Didn’t he beat Kaep in San Fran for his job as well? Backup QBs are a crapshoot but he is certainly not a bad one and very serviceable, could win you a game or two when your starter goes down. I think alot of teams would rather have him than any other crapshoot back up QBs in the league, and theres not alot of them but you could certainly do worst, like have Matt Cassel as your back up or Chad Henne

Sure you need a good oline to be a good QB, but a good QB could also make a better oline (if that makes any sense) just because you have a good oline doesnt guarantee you that QB will be good as well either. In 2015 Matt Cassel played with thr same oline in Dallas as Dak is but he still sucked.(11-26-2017, 10:33 PM)JaguarJosh05 Wrote: This isn't college football. Almost all of these arguments pinning a game on one player or another is really stupid. Every unit made plays today. Blake got KILLED today in many situations. We had no help up front and no running game yet the offense managed to get the crucial 2nd half touchdowns. Lots of players did some good things and some costly things it just wasn't enough today. Had we managed to luck out and win that one all the bad would have been swept under the rug again. The moral of the story is our team is decent and compete with anybody but they aren't world beaters. All we can do is bounce back and get healthier and play better. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! I haven't seen any others but based on this one, you might wanna stop at 20. I'm not sure anyone on this board really watches the games...
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

First off... Yeldon. Secondly... He did? When? 3 Carries, 10 yards. I think you're mistaking Yeldon's screen catches (on which he did well enough) for him actually being effective running the ball, which he was not.

Other than a few pounding hits to the secondary in the first part of the season, Fournette hasn't shown anything that Ivory/Yeldon/Grant haven't done. I don't really care about the hate I'll get for pointing that out, but it's true.

It wasn't a good game for 4net, but come on.
Where was Ivory btw? Was he inactive?

It was a bad pick at the fourth spot magnified by a franchise quarterback was there for the taken, and out present qb isn’t that good. Only thing I’ve been impressed by him by is he ran 22 mph. Maybe he’ll show some more top five draft pick plays down the stretch.

Fournette is to blame for no line and a QB who is innacurate. Now.... I been rough on Fournette. And had wacky views before. But this....

Fournette is supposed to be the star of this offense. He has not impressed or really helped this offense outside of a few games. We needed him badly yesterday and he disappeared. He’s pretty soft.

Our number 1 receiver is out the year, our number 2 has been injured in many games. Our number three flashes and butterfingers/ ball not Catchable. Our number 4 was a walk on. Our number 5 has played exactly 2 games. And is a rookie. Our number one TE. Shows up a few games and Dissapears rest of season. Our number 2 and 3 flashes and nothing else. Our line though doing extremely well... Is a mix n match nearly every week. And Blake scares no one. So not like going to respect his deepball. So in essence.... Not Fournette fault. Has he been the monster game changer that Taylor was? No not close. (Fragile Fred was injury ridden) Is he like Mojo? Still not close.... But is that fair to compare??? Absolutely not both had great run blocking lines. That Fournette does not have.

But he’s supposed to be the battering ram and he’s not doing what we were sold on. He’s supposed to be the one RB that is the exception to the rule. So far he’s done this disappearing act multiple times. He hasn’t lowered his shoulder and just take the 3 -4 yards with power runs. Instead he’s trying to spin out of tackles vs running through takles. By the way stop blaming Blake for everything. Hes been playing pretty well for about 4-5 games straight. Every game he’s made some beautiful deep passes but have been flat out dropped. Fournette was supposed to be Blake’s security blanket. So far he’s a farce.

I think we need to understand who Fournette is. If there is a hole to run through, he is probably better than any back in the league in that situation. Just bigger and faster than the other RBs and can do more damage. Can run you over or run away from you. But if there isn't a hole, he just isnt very good. Which is true of many backs obviously. But he isn't going to make something out of nothing the way a guy like Adrian Peterson or Fred Taylor could. Even MJD at times. It's just not who Fournette is. So to blame him seems silly because you are expecting him to do something he isnt good at. It's like asking Marcedes Lewis to run go routes all game long and then get mad that he doesnt end up with a lot of catches. Fournette doesnt have much wiggle and doesnt have the ability to laterally cut to the outside to find room there. He has to have a hole to run through or else he is completely ineffective. We saw it in college when he would get shut down against Bama. And we've seen it play out basically all year this season.

He is the wrong style running back for our QB. I mentioned numerous times. That Fournette is not a great RB in the spread/shotgun that Blake runs. And takes more time to get up to full speed due to it. And was taken as the laughing stock of the board. And I didn't know what I was talking about. People are now beginning to see where I was coming from with own eyes. The styles clash. And don't mix and match together. But I actually applaud Fournette in getting 100 yard games. In a style that works against him. But nto due to it. Won't be that game changing monster till develop more designed plays that benefit Fournette strong points.

I mean, it's common for RBs to slow down after they hit 30.
With Bortles and Fournette entering the twilight of their careers, I can only assume the jags will start looking toward the future. I'm just assuming they are in their twilight years based on receding hair lines ... those dudes gotta be old, right?
you dont know a thing about football, we were missing two starting OL, and Zona is out there stacking 8-9 in the box your clueless, he's suppose to break tackles when he is hit the second he gets the ball
