Does anyone remember the talks we had on Trent Richardson?
|
I remember posting that he wouldn't be worth much. Then some of you guys persuaded me, so I gave him a little more credit and said he would be nothing more than a Darren Sproles type guy.
You guys flamed me so bad when I said he would flop. I feel the same way about Bridgewater. He just oozes Geno Smith to me. They even have the same throwing motion and body type. I think Bridgewater will be a huge bust. ....in before someone calls me an idiot, stupid, cool story bro, do I watch football, etc We show less advertisements to registered users. Most just hated that comparison. Sproles and Richardson are just so different.
Although I thought Trent would be good so kudos to you for being correct in that assumption. I disagree on Teddy though. I think he will be a very good pro.
Well I predicted Adrian Peterson would be a good pro and I was right. I think Teddy will be a good pro. Looks like we got quite the conundrum here, don't we...?
What about Bridgewater's game "oozes" Geno Smith to you? Other than throwing motion & body type

Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

Well, you get credit for correctly citing Richardson....but he's nothing like Darren Sproles as a runner. The only way Bridgewater is a huge bust is through injury, related to his small frame.

Jury is still out on Trent, still too young to proclaim bust status and his rookie year was at least average at worst.
Teddy and Geno are similar I agree. However I think that Teddy has better pocket awareness, better accuracy, a quicker release although his motion looks funky at times, and better touch on the deep ball than Geno. Overall I think Teddy is a better prospect. Note that I think Geno will ultimately become a pretty decent QB and think he showed flashes of that even though he was on an awful team with no help around him. Again, way too quick to judge Geno after just one season.
Wonder if anyone charted geno comparible to the work done on TB, bortles , Carr, and manz

Does anyone remember the time I was right about this one player? Yeah, that's evidence that I'll be right about another player. I will also conveniently leave out the many times i was wrong about players.
I was wrong about Trent Baalke.
Quote:I'm guessing Bridgewaters accuracy #s mops the floor with geno. Not really. Geno's completion % through college: 2009-65.3% (32-49) 2010-64.8% (241-372) 2011-65.8% (346-526) 2012-71.8% (369-518) Career completion %: 67.4% Teddy's completion % through college: 2011-64.5% (191-296) 2012-68.5% (287-419) 2013-71.0% (303-427) Career completion %: 68.4%
Your really gonna compare you saying a RB gonna be a bust to a QB lol ok

Quote:Not really. Hmmm interesting.... Kodiak would you like to do a comparison on Geno's last college season vs Teddy's?

I'm probably the 2nd (maybe 3rd) biggest Geno fan on this board but Teddy is a much better prospect.
I can't do anything this weekend, I'm outta town till Sunday.

Geno played in Dana Holgorson's offense. It's an air raid offense with a ton of 0 routes and drags to Tavon Austin. His numbers wouldn't have been as good in a pro style offense like Louisville's.
