Where would you go with our 2nd round pick?

As bad as I want to say DE, I don't think we can hit a homerun that far back on a premier pass rusher.

I'd like to see us pick up a solid playmaking LB. If one doesn't fit the pick I would like to see a RB.

The more I think about it, I want the Jags to take that 6' 7" TE from Notre Dame with that pick.

Could be the next stud TE in the league.

I've given a fair amount of thought to the second round pick and still can't really land on the "best" position to target there.   Luckily  (unfortunately in reality) we have several positions in need of upgrade and there will certainly be some good players available.  So Caldwell ought to be able to find some good value with the pick.

Most agree that pass rush and quarterback are the Jags greatest needs.  So the simple answer is pick whichever you didn't pick in the first round.

I think we'll learn a lot more about their strategy on drafting a pass rusher during the first week of free agency when we see which veteran they pursue. (if any)

To the podium, where we draft...

[spoiler]Kyle Van Noy

I just got a gut feeling that Van Noy is gonna be really good, and he could be on the board when the Jags pick in the 2nd round.

I say a DT if we can find a good one similar to Marks or maybe a space eater. Gus has really improved Branch and I believe we will sign another LEO type guy in FA. A good interior line will really help our pass rushers and give them more one on one matchups. So DT or an OLB. Thankfully there seems to be a lot of 2nd round DT and we should have a chance at a good one. Sutton from ASU is who I want

I keep seeing the DT from Pittsburgh (Aaron Donald?) mocked in the 2nd round.  I can't believe he will last that long, but if he does, I want him!  The TE from Notre Dame would be nice too

Assuming we go QB in the first?  Pass rush is the next biggest need.

Depends on what players are there. If either Benjamin or Mason are there, I'd go with one of them.

I hope we don't draft purely by need, but by "need meets value".

I like Aaron Donald.  The only problem is that he'd play the same position as Marks.

I'm crossing my fingers for either Kyle Van Noy or Xavier Su'a Filo.

There are trade-offs for sure when Caldwell makes the need-to-value decision.  Maybe a FA, but we've got to find a way to get pressure on the QB.

I would love to get Tre Mason too, but using the second round pick on a running back might not be a good idea when the lines have to be upgraded. Do you really want to wait until the sixth pick in the third round to replace Brad Meester?

If we do go WR in the 2nd Davante Adams would be my other choice who may turn out better than Benjamin.  The more I think about it I think I would rather Adams if we had to pick between the 2

I would rather draft Mason in the 2nd than a center

And do what with MJD? He is going to test the market for starter money, so I don't see him accepting a pay cut to stay in Jacksonville if Gus Bradley decides he should be a backup behind a rookie.

Either one would be sweet I like them a lot. Both could easily be first rounders too.
