He is much better when he gets in rhythm early in the game.  We need to throw to set up the run.  We do the opposite when Fournette is playing.

I get tired of Jaguars fans who have been changing their tune about Bortles from week to week. The reality about Blake is that he can be very successful when the offensive line is effective and he isn't without his top 2 or 3 receivers.
He will never be a pro-bowl quarterback, but how many great quarterbacks are there in the NFL? His durability is second to none and the importance of that can't be overestimated. Kirk Cousins did not look like a $100 million quarterback today and the team that pays him will regret it. Some on this board wanted Brett Hundley and look what he has done since Rodgers got injured.

I expect the Jaguars to beat the Bills and the Steelers game will be very close. With Robinson back at left tackle, Fournette will have a big day and Blake will look like the guy who beat the Seahawks, Texans and Colts.The Jags will draft a quarterback in the 1st 3 or 4 rounds to replace Henne and be groomed to eventually become the starter. Just as important, the Jaguars need to continue to strengthen the offensive line. It is imperative that they draft someone very early, because the depth at this position is not good. Drafting someone like Hernandez or Nelson will help take the offense to a new level, especially with the return of Allen Robinson.

Bortles deserved all the criticism he received last season and early on this season. However, he has improved significantly and having the same offensive coordinator for a couple seasons is a big part of the reason. Regardless of how this season ends, I believe Jaguars fans have all the reasons in the world to be optimistic about this team moving forward and that includes the quarterback position.

Yes, none of those things are his fault but at the end of the day he has to lead the offense to more than 3 (or even 10 counting the dropped TD, which is generous)

This is what I was preaching in the game day thread during the second half. When Fournette plays we just run heavy even when it never works and only pass when it is predictable and necessary. Hand cuff offense. I've tried watching the Ravens, Colts, Texans, Bengals games again to see what was different. Really we were able to just set and throw a lot to beat man coverage. Once this happened the running game was magically there. I know we had Wells out there but you can't play scared. When the game finally rested on us needing a TD to win and having to rhythm on offense Blake was just lobbing stuff off his back foot. It was either a very poorly managed game or the Titans defense was just elite.

The game plan is predictable when Fournette is in. The fact that we won every game he was out this season is testament that we don't have to lean on him as a workhorse.


GAME PLAN FOR PLAYOFFS :

Throw early... get Blake into a rhythm... Take a comfortable lead... Pound out the clock on a tired defense with your powerful backs.
