Let's be honest with one another.  The jags wanted to win The last two games and still have a shot for a bye.  They choked against the 49ers then only half heartedly played the titans.  To say they threw both of them games is just flat dumb and no one will ever believe that.

Yes it is a narrow margin no denying that

I didn’t saw they threw both games.  The 9ers game,  yeah that game pissed me off.  Blake was the old Blake.  Even then they almost came back to win.  But the last titans game they were obviously not playing like they wanted or cared to win.  The whole team

Titans held the head to head tie breaker.  If both teams finished 9-7 titans would have won the division

I completely understand that, but they didn't. Therefore, the Jaguars won the division by a one game margin. Had the division been on the line, the Jags would have opened up the playbook. See my above post for the details about that.

Too bad the Jags already had 10 wins. 9-7 just doesn’t do it.

Literally no one is arguing that. However that is irrespective of the fact that you did not dominate your division. You won it by a half game. You wanted BYE week contention but got dominated by the 49ers. Then you played your starters against the Titans and lost.

The Titans win against the Rams and you are a wildcard.

Titans would have been 10-6 had they beat the Rams.

Well had that happened then maybe the Jags would’ve opened the playbook more the last week and tried harder.  But that just wasn’t the case.

In the standings world it's only a half game I know 10 is 1 larger than 9 but when it comes to actual NFL standings it is .5 games

I've never seen that. I'll concede that one to you then. My point still stands that the Jags closed off more than half of their playbook that game in anticipation of a rematch a week later. That didn't happen, and here we are!

So? Titans would beat the Bills. The Bills barely beat the Colts.

Trust me I know it does.  Honestly marrone should have never put the starters out there for a full meaningless game.

Did you see that game? I don't think I would use that as a metric lol.

I concede that the Bills squeaked in. I never argued that.

I am just arguing the idea that the Jaguars dominated their division. They very nearly lost it.

I think it was important especially if there was a chance they were going to play the Titans in the playoffs. You don't want to go against them 0-2 in the season and then on a two game losing streak into the playoffs.

I don't know whether to agree or disagree with that. The injured starters got the game off to rest and heal. Marrone was steadfast in his approach that all healthy starters would play. I don't know if it was to keep the game fresh, or experience to the many young players we have on our roster. We came out with no injuries, so I guess I can't question the coaches' approach.

Ya but if that's the case of 0-2 why not play to beat them and use more than half of the playbook.  I think marrone wanted to win early on then couldn't get anything going so he backed off and was like screw it try again next week

This has been fun, but I think I'm going to duck out, grab a cold one, and watch those worthless, stinkin' tacks get bounced from the playoffs by the Chiefs. I'll check in from time to time. Bills fans don't bother me. We all have more in common than we differ. We all have hopes and dreams that are alive right now. Those dreams will come to fruition for another week for one of us. I don't dare say who. I watched the 1996 game that the Jags had no way of winning........

And it's greatly appreciated! Hope it doesn't come back to bite you! I wonder...do the other teams that beat them get some of the credit too, or just the Jags?

My apologies to those of you who feel like I'm being unreasonable and trash talking. Just trying to stimulate some fun conversation since the Bills board is fairly boring. Seriously though, who wouldn't be arguing for their team? We're all super excited to be in the post-season.

The Jags and Carson Palmer share equal responsibility.  Shall I send you the link for donations of thanks?
