I've said it before: there has to be a limit.  In the past, I've obsessed during free agency, hoping the team would be willing to break the bank for this guy or that guy.  3-13 will do that to you.  Desperation.  But when you have built a talented roster, and you want to compete for years to come, you have to start to set limits.  You have to have some sort of budget.  Spending money means making choices.  

It's like the team has grown up.  We're no longer children.  "Daddy, buy me this!  Daddy, buy me that!"  

As the team improves, we start to get into a salary cap squeeze, and we have to be strict with our money.  That's what good teams do.   Bad teams have unlimited cap space because they don't have any good players to begin with.   Good teams have to be disciplined.

I guarantee you, if Allan Robinson signs a blockbuster deal, it will be with some crap team that has all kinds of cap space and is desperate to spend some money and get some players.  Thank God we are no longer in that situation.

While I didn't like the Smoot pick and still question it, it was obviously a BAP pick. The Jags had a clear need at guard, and that would have been the need pick had Caldwell picked for need.

Caldwell also drafted the Biletnikoff award winning WR Dede Westbrook (also a BAP pick) in the next round, who might have put up as good a result as Kupp had he not missed more than half the season with an injury, and signed Keelan Cole as an undrafted free agent who put up numbers as good as Kupp in spite of the Jags run-first-and-don't-trust-Bortles offense.

Keelan Cole was not even drafted and put up comparable numbers to Kupp so I guess the Rams overdrafted him then. They should all be fired for drafting a guy they could have just gotten after the draft....

Westbrook had off the feild concerns... he was a consensus 2nd round pick at minimum.

We are coming off a season where we reached the AFC championship game based upon a roster built mostly by Caldwell, and you want him fired because he didn't draft Cooper Kupp?!?

Take a look at Lindy's draft annual when you get the chance.

They have rated teams drafting over the last five years.

Only two (2) teams got grades equal to or greater than the B+ the Jaguars earned:  Pittsburgh who got an A and Dallas who got a B+.

If ARob goes to SF, you can pretty much pencil in 1300 and 10 TDs from ARob. Shannahan would get the absolute most out of ARob.
