It's ESPN doing what they do. Manufacture a story to create buzz, debate, segments, etc. Major load of crap that there is no way Kiper actually thinks. 100% it was the suits coming to him and telling him to cause a stir, and sure enough very first segment on the noon SportsCenter OMG MANZIEL #1 YAY JFF SLOBBER. So predictable and infuriating. That's why I scream from the mountains the first step to learning about the draft is to turn off the TV.

I would also urge you to not read mock drafts...at least as they pertain to the Jaguars. I swear, it seems as if the bulk of these mock draft producers have no clue what the Jaguars needs are, and will stick them with a player they don't like or otherwise don't know where else to place. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!
Could work out very well for us long term if the Texans get Manziel. However if Minnesota gets Bridgewater at #8, they just got a epic steal. The texans would be foolish/crazy to take Manziel that high.
How come Bridgewater is so low but none of the "experts" have a reason why he should be? Quote:It's ESPN doing what they do. To be fair i think there is a real chance that the Texans want Manziel. That said if Bridgewater is on the board and we pass then Clowney better be a monster from day 1 because i honestly believe Bridgewater is going to help turn around whatever franchise he goes to. Quote:I'd love Clowney...only if Bridgewater is off the board. I agree. I don't think you can complain too much about acquiring arguably the best player in the draft with the 3rd overall pick. With that being said, Caldwell has too land a QB in RD2 or 3. IF the draft played out like this and teddy, manziel and Bortles are gone in Rd 1 who would you guys want Dave to target QB wise with the next couple of picks ? Quote:Good advice.I think everyone and their mother knows we need a QB and pass rusher. Those are the only 2 positions i have seen mocked to the Jags so far. Quote:To be fair i think there is a real chance that the Texans want Manziel. That's not the point, there is just no way a reputable draftnik would put his 11th ranked prospect and #3 QB at #1 in a draft if it wasn't for the shock and awe factor. ESPN is now set up to lead off with this story every hour, an hourly mid SC Mel's top 10 update, another debate segment with him and McShay for the next week, a plethora of First Take debates with Skip/SAS/random ESPN 'talent' (who has also been screaming he should be #1 for weeks just like he said with Tebow). They're also set up nicely to debate more when more leaks are coming out that Teddy/Bortles/Clowney appear in the lead for the Texans. It's all just 100% fabricated BS...and it's of course working because twitter is abuzz and all the blog sites are posting about it and junk. ESPN is the puppetmaster.

People overrate Bridgewater talking about he's a franchise changer. He's not. He's a good QB, but you can't project that on any QB especially a first year starting rookie. Drafting highly talented defensive players is more important than reaching on a QB in the first round.
But, I'd take Mack over Clowney for this team. Wouldn't mind if we trade back collect some picks and draft Mack later. "A man with no sauce is lost.
<p style="text-align:center;">But that same man can get lost in the sauce."
Sayinig that draft experts are doing this just to talk is almost the same as saying Bridgewater is a cant miss prospect. Bridgewater was pushed hard by a few people on this board and a few web sites off this message board. People latched on and now cant let go.
Nobody knows. Quote:Sayinig that draft experts are doing this just to talk is almost the same as saying Bridgewater is a cant miss prospect. I wouldn't take Mack over Barr let alone over Clowney. Quote:Sayinig that draft experts are doing this just to talk is almost the same as saying Bridgewater is a cant miss prospect. No, it's not the same at all. Not even a little. Drafting highly talented defensive players is more important than reaching on a QB in the first round. Defensive end is a more premium position than linebacker. We haven't had a good pass rusher since Tony Brackens was still on the roster. |
