Russell Wilson advancing to the SB, will elevate Johnny Football's drafting

#1

He may not be a carbon copy of Wilson but there are similarities. I think teams that need a QB will be influenced by the fact that Seattle has made it this far with the help of Wilson's QB'ing and will result in Manziel being drafted very high. Possibly even over Bridgewater if we're talking about a team like the Browns.

Wilson did not look good against the Niners in my opinion.

If we draft johnny ego....does the hawks defense come with him?
If that RV sales place wants Tebow in Jax bad enough to take out a billboard saying as much.....they should just HIRE him.

I agree. I think Wilson's played very average overall during the last 6-7 weeks. However, thats not going to matter to some desperate team. All they are going to see/ care about is the one or 2 big plays that Wilson made to help advance them to the 'duperbowl. And they'll see Wilson in Manziel. Its coming.

Well in our case we have a coach who knows how to get the most out of average players on defense so if we can get the offense up to speed it would go a long way with our playoff chances in the near future.

It sounds like you're riding the fence again, TMD.

So are you a fan of Manziel or not?  Do you want the Jags to draft him anymore?

Huh??, I like Manziel. WHat I am saying is, he's going to have more universal appeal than before because of how people are in this league, i.e. copy cats.

I think Manziel will be a better passer in the NFL than Wilson's been.

Its amazing how some of you are like leeches just trying to extract something to get me on.

...either that or the 'experts' will see that the myth that a run first team with strong defense can't win in 'today's game' is untrue.

Uh, lets wait & see if the dominant passing game built to win in todays NFL doesn't destroy that run first team and defense on the level of those 55-10 SB outcomes we used to see the Niners put on the old Denver teams....

...and if Seattle wins it will be a predetermined outcome.

See how fast I catch on.

I did not watch the AFC title game.

I can tell from the stats NE lost the game due to an inability to run the football.

As long as we had Natrone Means up over 100 yards, we were good in the 1996 playoffs.

Delusions of grandeur.

You make a mockery of yourself with your "takes."

No one tunes in for them, you grace us with them regardless of our disdain for them.

Precisely.  Once the real football started, the playoffs... the teams who could pound the rock when they need to have risen to the top.  It's reflected in the lower scoring, which is also an indicator that the better defenses have helped get these teams deep into the playoffs.

Much to the chagrin of the "one guy fixes it all" zombies, you need a complete team to win the prize.  Those who are lopsided, unbalanced, or otherwise have glaring weaknesses, fall by the wayside.

Kudos to that JDR D for tamping down that NE offense.  NE got only so far without quality weapons around Brady, and not being able to affect the opposition's QB.

Brady and Kaepernick were clearly affected by the defenses they faced, and they lost.  It's not difficult to understand.  And the same will happen in the Super Bowl.  The most effective/disruptive defense will win.

I beg to differ.   The best combination of offense, defense, and special teams will win.

I'm curious to hear all of the similarities that you see between the two and their play.

So GMs evaluation of JM will change because Richard Sherman made a great play. Makes sense.

Both smallish players who use their legs to escape many would be QB sacks, and make plays downfield.

I'm curious to hear why you apparently take offense and act as if I am comparing Leftwich and Flutie here.

Are you suggesting the NFL is not a copycat league?

There will be teams that see Manziel as the next Russell Wilson and will try to copy Seattle's blueprint. This crap happens in the league with good teams all the time.
