Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say! Rather, it's constantly drilled into college players' heads how much faster the NFL is, and by the time they get to the NFL, they fully expect as much. Just listen to Leanard Fournette talk about how when he got to the NFL everything was actually slower than he expected because the "faster" mantra was all he heard. I doubt you'll find a single college player suggest that the NFL might be slower. That's just so not even the case. I swear Jungle Cat, it often boggles my mind just how wrong you can be.

I think my favorite thing about this Leon Jacobs story is that he opened camp as the starter. He didn’t work his way up after a few good camp days or sneak up on anyone... he opened camp as the starting strongside linebacker of the best defense in the NFL. To me that means he was impressive all through minis and OTA. Impressive enough to not mess around with a camp battle and was named the starter immediately. Seventh round draft pick. Amazing.

Oesher was touting him all along, from OTAs through the dead zone so you're right.
Season Ticket holder since 2004.

College players ALL believe college football is fast and the NFL is full of a bunch of old grads grazing in a professional pasture. What Jacobs is about to find out, and every rookie finds out, is the NFL is much faster than college football. Things happen at a much greater pace in the pros. Not so. Leonard was quoted recently stating the NFL was much faster than he thought entering the league. He was blowing bunk out of his rear when he (as a rookie) said everything was slower than expected. https://www.jaguars.com/news/jaguars-201...lot-slower “It’s a lot slower than my first year,” the No. 4 overall selection in the 2017 NFL Draft said Thursday afternoon after the Jaguars’ 20th practice of 2018 Training Camp at the Dream Finders Homes Practice Complex. “Once you really get that one year under your belt, everything slows down each and every year. “It’s just like college, coming in as a freshman. It seems fast with everything coming at you. In the second year, it slows down completely. Just the game and the speed helps you.” The fact Leonard, averaging a measly 2.76 yards per carry in pre-season, is NOW claiming this year is much slower in camp than last year PROVES EMPHATICALLY the pace in camp is nowhere near what it needs to be in order to acclimate the team to actual NFL game day tempo. Everything always slows down for players in their second year because they've adjusted more to the league tempo. What he's saying here is no-brainer material. None of this changes the fact that he still expected things to be faster as a rookie.

Players MUST pick up the pace. As it stands now, I say that Jacobs LOOKS mighty good, but he will have to watch out that he doesn't get lulled into lagging play. The best way to prevent this is for the coaching staff to step back, see the Jaguars' tempo is SLOWER than acceptable, and begin to push the entire squad to come up to regular season tempo. What is that going to hurt? Nothing. 800 meters to go! https://youtu.be/y3zfNlmEHr0 (08-24-2018, 11:46 AM)JUNGLE CAT 2017 Wrote:(08-24-2018, 10:29 AM)Jags02 Wrote: It proves no such thing. Of course the actual tempo of the game does not slow down, but you know full well that's not at all what Leonard and other players mean when they say the game slows down for them after their rookie season. Even though things are flying just as fast, it SEEMS slower to them. Please tell me you're not too ignorant to understand this basic concept.

Those who understand binary and those who don't.
