This year they are playing zone, so he has to give the cushion.

I wouldn't pay him what he will get though. Pass rushers are more important.

Nope... when your offense only has the ball, for a total of 16 plays the first half and the Cowboys had that many plays their last drive before half... somewhere you have to start looking at your offense...

No he’s good. Probably playing through injuries that are going to require either rest or surgery. I would like it if he went back to letting his play do the talking instead of his mouth.

So this is pretty much the same players on defense with the same coach/scheme. One of the most opportunistic defenses in the league can't even get off the field anymore. You can blame zone/man all you want the fact is guys aren't winning their one on ones and we have no answer for a mobile QB. We don't adjust to anything. Once we start getting beat it never stops.

Talks too much. He is smart so he probably won't resign. We have a penchant for blowing it.  We have a history of limited success and talking too much and ending up embarrassed.

But you can blame the offense for leaving the defense in the field wayyyy too long and getting gassed. SIXTEEN offensive plays in the first half is inexcusable.

I'm not a Bortles basher, but the playcalling and looking deep too much has to change. Need to get back to quick passing and letting guys run. If he can't do it, then they have to try something.
