Jalen Ramsey

#1

In the midst of the doom of that defeat, I do think we should appreciate how well Ramsey played today. He was going up against Antonio Brown, the best in the business and was mainly playing man on him for most of the day. That in itself is hard enough but the play for his first INT was phenomenal. Playing man on Brown, he read the route and throw and made a ridiculous play to jump the route and somehow hold onto that ball. You can't understate how exceptional an effort he made on that play.

He then made his second great play, again in man on Brown, jumping over Brown to make the pick in the endzone. That drive had the roughing call and the D was getting frustrated but Jalen made a huge play to Keep the Steelers off the board. For 2 and a half quarters Brown had 5 targets with zero receptions and 2 INT's. That's insane.

He only gave up one play to Brown on the final drive where he got picked and Telvin didn't zone cover properly.

He is such a talent and plays his position like a seasoned vet. He's a guy we need to make sure stays in Jacksonville for his career.

He played his heart out....only to have the offense choke when it mattered

After sleeping on it, I am starting to soften my stance on Ramsey. It has occurred to me that the greatest sports shrinks on the planet can't prepare the human mind to deal with a Blake Bortles led offense and it is driving him insane. Like being in solitary confinement. Blake Bortles is literally tearing this team apart from the inside.

Gotta love a guy that hates to lose. It's great to see emotion too. He's just a kid, hope he's in JAX a long time.

Interesting, how does that make you feel?

Steeler Fan here.     I think Ramsey is going to go down as one of the best corners of all time.  He not only shut AB down, he made him disappear.

He also got abused by Alshon Jeffrey on every 3rd and long.

I will take consistency over elite flashes every day of the week.

And yet we get this out of the national media...

At 3-7, the Jaguars are behind eight other teams -- including the Browns! -- for the final wild-card spot. Mathematically, it isn't over but given how the first 11 weeks have unfolded, the season appears to be lost.

Appears?  I can't imagine being these defensive players and knowing that have to pitch shut outs.

As was the case with Deion Sanders, why wouldn't we just lock Jalen man-to-man on the opposing teams top #1 WR ? He should have been locked up against TY Hilton last week instead of going to zone.

I say give him to Gruden for Carr and the 1st rounder they acquired for Mack. Done deal.

Ramsey will hold out for a new deal shortly anyway.

Yesterday was his best game he's ever played. Can't afford to let that kind of talent escape Jacksonville.

He was fantastic. Bouye too.

Telvin still sucks, and Gipson was average at best. The others have done their job.

He says he wants to retire a Jaguar. Doesn't mean he won't go somewhere else win 3+ Superbowls there and come back here to retire. Yall need to read between the lines of his words. He's an intelligent guy and doesn't always completely say what he means.

I wouldn't say Telvin sucks, but you're on to something. I don't think he's as good as he thinks, or as good as many fans think. He's terrible in coverage and he's pretty good elsewhere. He's a good NFL backer, but not elite.
