Kareem Hunt Released

Some people use the "he's a 22 year old young man" line to defend his actions, but that's no excuse. At 22 years old there are many in the military operating multi-million dollar machinery and working in the most dangerous environment in the world. At 22 years old there are police officers on the street risking their lives. Word. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

Not really.People acting like he Bruce Lee’d her face in. If a guy on a rookie contract made more in 2 years than you will in a lifetime, you made some terrible career choices.

He can go to Canada and play, if no one in the NFL signs him. The AAF starts in 2019, I don't know what their domestic violence policies are. Maybe he could play there. He could probably make millions as a public speaker, denouncing domestic violence, if he truly has turned things around. His life is not ruined. Not even close. Not everyone can be doctors and lawyers, plus you're not counting the endorsements that he had. He probably made more money on them, than he did on his rookie deal.

I am a bit surprised at the decision, and certainly surprised at the speed at which they moved.
I'm not so certain events or their timelines unfolded the same way if the Cheifs were in such a strong competitive position. Given that clubs handle things in different ways, I'd like to see more cohesion and clarity on policy. I agree with the decision, but don't believe the way it was handled would play out the same way in all 32 clubhouses.

I don't believe for a second the Chiefs didn't know about the video. NFL teams are usually a couple of steps ahead on all legal matters, even if they play dumb
I will give him this, his apology was a lot more sincere and believable than Ray Rice's was.

Idk in the apology he says he’s sorry and embarrassed because of the video, never said he was embarrassed because what he did in the video. May just be a poor choice of words, but doesn’t sound sincere that way.

"You can't really explain it," Hunt said. "The video shows it. I was in the wrong. I'm not that type of person. I'm really disappointed and embarrassed in myself." I think that's pretty legit. He said he was in the wrong. In this day and age, I can definately appreciate anyone who is taking responsibility for their actions. That actually tells me he might be recoverable, and could be a decent citizen from here. Yes, it's improvement, but it's Blaine Gabbert 2012 level improvement. - Pirkster The Home Hypnotist! He admitted he lied to the Chiefs and said they did the right thing by releasing him. He also said the reason he got so mad didn't matter. He said what he did was wrong and there was no excuse for his actions. IMO, that was about as good of an apology as you can expect. I also saw the TMZ video on Youtube where they was interviewing the girl and some of Hunt's friends, right after the assault. She seemed pretty combative IMO and alcohol appeared to be part of the issue, not to mention that Hunt's friends said she was throwing around the N-word. That is definitely no excuse for what he did, but I like how he didn't even want to discuss the reason why she set him off. He wasn't gonna use that as an excuse.
New report says NFL did not interview Hunt or the "victim" about the incident. More Banana Republic justice from Jefe Goodell.

He may miss some or all of next season, but by being released he is a year or two ahead of the game at getting a full value free agent contract instead of his rookie contract. Has the league taken any action on this? I thought everything that happened was undertaken by the Chiefs organization? Sorry if I'm ruining the narrative.

No, I agree with you that it was the Chiefs, but it seems that what the NFL does and doesn't decide to involve itself with changes week to week. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato

Frankly, players who perform acts of violence should be blacklisted. These guys are the pinnacle of fame, they're idolized by kids everywhere, and they're making millions to play a game. If you can't abstain from hitting women, you need to get gone, IMO.
idiot, a 2nd one came out and now a 3rd? The guy is done

Hi, Jaguars fans. Cleveland Browns, through a previous and current pro relationship through current GM John Dorsey, signed Kareem Hunt to their team today. Good luck Browns.

If they can keep some defensive continuity from last year, Cleveland should be in playoff contention this year. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!
