Good timing with this idea. They're shopping him around now I believe. Wilson could probably get it done. But I would feel a lot more comfortable with this trading of Gipson or potential release if they had an idea of maybe adding White out of LSU with that 7th overall selection. That would give us the flexibility of moving Jack back outside to compliment Smith. So we at least bolster one group to compensate for a loss on the back end. If that makes sense?

Most of the good FA safeties are SS not FS, why do you think the Jags are getting hit up about the possibility of trading for TG? They know the Jags are a bit cash strapped and the good FA FS will cost a lot more than TG. Jags need to keep TG if at all possible.

Very possible. 

I tend to think the Jags value Gipson more than lots of fans and writers are assuming they do.

The question is, could we sign a FA Free Safety for a lower price without losing the level of talent we had there with Gipson? I don't know. I just know that this year's rookie FS class is pretty underwhelming. After the first couple of rounds, the talent level drops off sharply. There are way more good Strong Safety prospects in this draft than there are Free Safeties. I'm on the fence with this decision.

True.  This time of year, teams will tend to listen to calls for ANYONE, save franchise faces.  Unless a deal blows them out of the water (3rd and Gipson for Rosen???)  Right now, Antoine Bethea is the starting free safety in AZ but he will be 35 this year and has a cap hit of almost 7 mil.  I dunno.......if they feel he would fit the scheme of P. Peterson, Amerson, Budda Baker and Gipson?  But then again, they also claimed D.J. Swearinger from Wash in December.....but that dude is a headcase.  All I know is, i'm glad im not in charge of making decisions....
